guess if you dont ride hard any tires will do, however as you get to enjoy n understand your bike more you might want to consider the better tires.

btw 014 is how much?? i got my m1 for 420. could get it from lab for cheaper but their tires is older stk.

M1, 120/180 can get for around $430.

014s, can get 120/190 for around $430 also, so I think i'll go with the 014s, because I wanna use 190 profile for the rear.

180/55s turn or tip in much faster than 190/50s. Better for track and twisty uses. It's the profile that matters. /55s have more curvature and have more contact patched leaned over than /50s. Also, you lean less to achieve the same turning radius at a given speed. /55s also add a bit to your rear ride height, putting a little bit more weight on the front.

Unless you're getting 190/55s... but they're only available in trackday/race tyres, with Supercorsas and Rennsports being prime examples.

I used 190/50s previously, and after using 180/55s, find that they are more responsive tipping and flicking in/out.

Well, i don't really need it to "tip in fast" because the bike is agile enough. But I'd like to have the bike with proper tyre profiles. See how it goes.

At the rate I'm going, I'll be changing tyres quite frequently, so got lotsa chances to try out different configurations :D

Have you change your steering angle yet? After you do so you'll find the 'tipping and flipping' cause by the profile of the tires small.

between the 999(MY2003) and the 998 the difference is the look... from then on the upgrades to the 999 see its current models coughing out 20hp(approx) more than the first 999. Details can be found at the ducati website.

I am wondering if anyone here will be interested in taking up a track riding course. We need a min of 30 riders per day and at least 60 riders for their two days stint. The tentative dates will be 14th & 15th Dec (ya, very short notice). This is because it is their off season from ASBK.

For more info on the racing school goto Circuit Breakers Website

Their top 3 riders will be send here if this plan works out.

A little on their riding course:

What is Race School

Chief instructor/ coordinator Greg Albert

Race School's team of experienced professional motorcycle instructors include 3 x Superbike and Supersport champion Shawn Giles ,Supersport Champ Josh Brookes, 2 x World Endurance Champion Warwick Nowland, Leading domestic and world Factory Riders, Damian Cudlin,Daniel Stauffer,Mark Atchinson and more . The entire Race School staff prides itself on being open, approachable, and focused on helping you gain the skills and confidence to accomplish your riding goals.

Each RACE School is divided into two groups. The first group is for Track riders and newcomers to the track who are most comfortable at a lower pace, the other for Race students who wish to explore their limits with fewer restrictions.

RACE School will teach you skills in:

- Concentration, Relaxation, and Breathing

- One on One Race Instruction

- Improving Lap times

- Smoothness

- Visual Skills and Awareness

- Fitness and Discipline

- Body Position and Posture

- Cornering Lines and Passing Techniques

- Steering, Shifting and Braking Techniques

- Race Starts

- Reference Points

- Overcoming Panic

- Suspension and Chassis Basics

- How to get started in Racing

- Race and Track bike set-up

Two Wheels magazine (Australia) also ran an article featuring the school in the Nov issue. The course fee to bring them in to PG will be around $380 +/- per rider. They will cater to riders from novice to advanced.

This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity (maybe not lah). But the alternative is to fly overseas to do a similar course. But that will set you back like $2k+++

Anyone can give up - it's the easiest thing to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart; that's true strength!
