wouldn't b the one you're buying?have been looking f one for sometime now..whr did u get urs?

cheers

Hi rrr, I am should be getting the bike on fri. Have to sort out some stuff first. Wouldn't be the same one at IMM. It is red in colour and ft 4 digit plate.

Neo- I didnt know that open clutch cover gave extra hp. i thought it was just a cosmetic/aesthetic mod. haha.

Anyway not riding just yet.

Hope to come down but busy racing on the 4th and 5th of march. Have fun and post pics of the italian bike outing

Here's an actual pic of the bike I hope to get soon.

When it comes to bikes, I only see red…

Yes it does! Especially at standstill, immediately +5hp~! :D

Btw, what a beauty! Supersports should only come in Red!~

Thanks for your help. I agree with you. Who dislikes more power? Especially for a V twin with Ducati badge doing 225km/h at most?

What are some of the good value mods that actually improve power/efficiency?

1. I read changing to lighter wheels help lots in handling though least noticable

2. Titanium con rods and pistons are prohibitively expensive and wasted on a SS

3. Big bore to 944cc is illegal

4. Termis pipe also illegal

5. Increase the airbox size possible/better air filter available?

6. Increase oil radiator size?

I don't think i would like to vent the clutch covers because i think leaves and dirt might get in there. What performance and cosmetic mods are there for the SS900? I hope to get something for the clucth to be lighter because of my fingers condition in the accident.

>>1. I read changing to lighter wheels help lots in handling though least noticable

Well, reducing weight from rotating mass will be more significant than from static weight. Most noticiable will be from the wheels.

The lighter wheels will make the bike more flickable during corners and also makes the bike easier and faster to rev but there will be more "engine braking" since the wheels are lighter. (faster to spin up, also faster to slow down)

>>2. Titanium con rods and pistons are prohibitively expensive and wasted on a >>SS

Similiarly, lighter con-rod will make the bike more revvy/responsive, maybe 0.5hp increase due to less rotating mass to work against internally?

Aluminium pistons are lighter hence no reason to change to titanium?

>>3. Big bore to 944cc is illegal

Well....

>>4. Termis pipe also illegal

Well....

>>5. Increase the airbox size possible/better air filter available?

Not too sure on the SS but for Monster/ST2/ST4, yes, removing the airbox

lid and tuning will free up abt 5 HP.

>>6. Increase oil radiator size?

Not too sure. Maybe aids in cooling the oil.

The dry clutch if using a closed cover will trap alot of friction material dust.

Leaving it open will let the debris fly out and aid in cooling also.

Really individual preference.

Get an aftermarket slave with a bigger piston to aid in lighter clutch action?

Anyway, if you're really into performance, get a Ducati Sports bike or other make of sports bikes.

I went thru the path of "upgrading" my ST4, end of the day, it's still a ST4 not a 916/996/998/999.

However, pretty much happy with the ST4 cos it's versatile.

With the Aprilia guys? I don't think so man...

What I'd really like to do is to take our bikes to the twisties up north, maybe a weekend trip, or one day trip. Anyone game?
