Brake dust hard to check. Need to open up everything. Need to check if your disc brake having any grey residue. Else, go to any bikeshop and ask them to blow for you. Else you spray strong water jet at your brake.. Those garden hose and your pinch the tip to create a strong flow of water

I've actually went to a bike shop before. was told some bearings were damaged, and was asked to change the whole set.

am seeking second opinion here as I feel like a carrot at the bike shop cos I know nuts. :(

Well, this kinda thing is hard to say one.

I can go down with you if you don't mind to diagnose. Cause the clicking sound is very wide.. hard to determine here right now.

FYI, should you want to change the bearing, it will only set you back 20over to 30 plus for one bearing. Shouldnt cost much.. ask for the pricing first?

was told they normally change in a full set, no more than $150.

normally I'll just change what they ask me to, not a very smart move. lol

Full set? There is no such thing as "full set" for bearings. It's this round thing.. thats all. You dont need to change the shaft, the hub or what ever what. Guess this will be the last time for you to visit that shop already.

hi i also looking for new v2 , it will be great if u can share the price =)) over here !!!

V2 machine is some 6.5K. With the current COE and all in.. You will be expecting some 8.5K.

That is without insurance. So, for P-plate + sports bike loading + age below 25.. You will expect a 3rd party insurance to be within 800 - 1.1K

Generally it is calculated based one a per year basis, not monthly. So if you're done with probation by Apr 2013, but choose to buy an insurance for Nov 2012, it will still be charged as under 1 yr of riding exp.

BUT! You can opt for a half a year insurance and when you're officially out of the probation thing, ask to extend for another 6 months and top up the figure.

So you pay half of "a" premium for your probation price and then half price for "b" for your 1 year but below 2 years premium.

Or you can just buy one year for p-plate riding since the difference will not be much. Say it going to be 200 - 500 a year.. which work to some 40 a month only?

Welcome to the road!

Well, you can either get for yourself a V1 or a V2

That of course comes with quite a difference in terms of pricing and the likes..

2nd bike generally need not worry about IU installation, registration fee, COE, roadtax (if still valid from prev owner)

V1 will go from FBD to FBF @ some 4 to 6K depending on mod. So i'll just quote you basic model here then.

COE naturally will spanned from 7 years to 9years onwards

V2, of course will cost you more and one I know is letting go @ 7.5K min. But of cause, it's a FBG plate which is only used for a couple of months.

Insurance I'm guessing you at the factors of age (below 25), p-plate (no exp, no ncd) and full fairing..

It will come to some 900 to 1.2K for 3rd person.

and oh!

Check out the bike plate number on LTA to figure out how much is transfer fee. Usually it's a 12 to some 30, 40 over. Dont be scam by the others about this.

Good luck!

Hi guys. P-plater here looking to get my first bike and am really interested in R15 V2. However, I foresee that i'll be pillioning quite often and the lack of guard rails + seperate seating is somewhat worrying. Would therefore like to query on whether is it possible to install guard rails (how much to expect if possible)? Or recommended that I should be looking at other bikes?

For pricing issue, please do refer to the previous post and read up a little.

Sports bike in general comes with a price. Not just monetarily, but also the posture, the handling and all the things about it.

Each type of the bike have it's own stuff going on.

It is not possible to install any rail, guard what so ever on this bike unless you install for yourself a box at the rear that is. Some bike with this features would be CBR150r, R15 V1. And it is highly not recommended to have it since the posture of the bike made up the positing and weight distribution for the bike. If your pillion was to sit upright and hold that handle at the rear, you will have a hard time riding your bike.

If you're looking for comfort for yourself and your pillion, it is highly recommended that you seek out naked bike like FZ16, Duke 125/200

or

street bike like Bajaj pulsar, YBR125

or

scooter.

Well, engine wise, yes, it's derived from T135 Jupiter, a underbone from Yamaha as well.

You might have heard of this many times, but if you want speed, and just purely speed, go for 2 strokers (KR,SP,RS125,Mito) .

Not sure if it is applicable to riders in this forum, but I personally feel that even with the same engine, a different body grants you a different handling and riding experience. And the composition of the R15 shadows superbikes, hence I really like their handling.

Kups do not have a tank that your legs can grip on, and it's very different from riding another bike with a standard tank and full fairing. So do try out both and see which one suits you.

Adventure.

oh..is it worth getting a 2nd hamd r15 v1 hows the controlling with pillion and without in jams? because i enter malaysia everyday,so ill be expectating jams ...

Everything is all depend on yourself. Like what tyre and how you press your brake. Most important is use to your bike first then go in jb. Riding bike is easy but safely is hard. Suggestion is pass alr, buy alr, few months later then go in.

Oct 2011 - Starter - YZF R15

whats the top speed for v1 stock ?

what are the legal pipes available for v1? is it still for sale ?

does it affect the top speed and fc?

I like to raise one question to your campmate. Did they ride a bike themselves? Like active rider?

and it they do, they will not say such noob things comparing a kup and fairing bike. Apple may be fruit, tomato may also contain nutrients, but it's a vegetable.

Anyway. Top speed for this thing (stock) range from 130km/h to 138km/h.

Personally I varies my test environment and find that my avg top is 145km/h with mod to

1) Raizin volt stabilizer

2) Simota airfilter (cone)

3) GPR exhaust.

Legal pipe will only be GPR. Still on sales ranging from stainless 480 to carbon 600.

When you gain on one hand, you lose on the other. You increase your air-intake/ outflow, you lose your FC.

FC typically for stock goes 1L = 48km. Mine range 1L = 43km

capacity and other specification find the tech sheet.

2nd hand R15v1 price please refer to the previous few post and read up.

Is it worth it? Define worth? If you treat this as a race machine play toy, it will not satisfy you.

If you treat this as your transportation, this is over-price.

If you treat this as a learning experience for sports bike, this is the most balanced you can find.

Sportsbike turning is a little tougher with more focus on weight distribution. But R15v1 have a special posture, it does not require you to lean in too much. So I'd say your pillion will not feel uncomfortable and your back will not ache as easily.
