Biting on the fray of my hair, I muse upon the way to find the oasis of evermore beyond the vertical horizon, I shall join the windupdeads in owl city, neither my safetysuit nor my red jumpsuit apparatus can save me, cuz I mistook a death cab for cutie in plain white T's...

The cooling vents - FJR has it already

Fly by wire - R6 done it yrs ago

Auto transmission with peddle shifting mode / regular and sporty version - what, a ******* of FJR, GSX1000 and scooter?

Worse - looks like a beemer from the side

It may be equipped with the latest technology and gadgets but has lost its personality. Trying to be everything but end up being nothin.

The thing I like about this bike - it may bring down the price of its predecessors.

PS: informed from YT that there's something hiding under that seat.

too many latest technology and gadgets...... once spoil will cost abomb

Disappointing to me.

When i saw the spy shots of the bike 1-2 months ago, I was thinking "oh no..this is the new VFR? looks awful".

267kg...rather pigged out. But its a jump to 1200cc though.

Individual opinions, but I still like the old VFR800 outlook.

yeah me too, just put inverted cartridge forks and change the dash, i will rather buy this old reliable tech than the new fancy spaceship

VFR1200F is available at Mah, the 2-story bike showroom at end of Serangoon Road towards Macpherson road. Saw it in flesh, more than 2 months ago. Real tiny and slim.

I wonder if there is a Neutral for the the automatic model? Is like if the same throttle stuck open problem with the cars happen here, what can you do? :cheeky:

The VFR1200F DCT is really advanced. It is also totally fool proof :cheeky:

The DCT will never stall. Even when you shift to 6th gear, had to do an emergency brake, absolutely forgot about downshifting and everything else, you come to a stop and you realise about your bike, the DCT VFR will be sitting there waiting patiently, back to gear 1 by itself and it does not stall.:thumb:

In my opinion, it is less accurate to call the DCT an automatic. The DCT really still uses the traditional clutch, gear clogs in a traditional manual gearbox. I think it is more accurate to called it a computerised manual transmission.

DCT has 3 modes: two computer controlled modes: D-Drive mode (maximise fuel economy), S for Sport mode (maximise performance and pulls the rev real high); the last mode is fully manual mode--gear changes activated by left index finger and thumb.

A common feedback of DCT (based on overseas report) is that shifting between gears is totally seamless. Meaning that there is no jerk at all. And the gear shift takes place almost instantaneously, much faster than manual shifting (Formula F1 and MotorGP technology).

This seamless shifting is cleverly achieved by Honda because the DCT has two clutches. One set of clutch is for gear 1,3,5. The other clutch is for 2,4,6. So when you are engaged to gear 3, the bike has also quietly engaged gear 4 and 6. So when you upshift (or downshift), the rpm is perfectly matched. Clever isn't it?

The net effect on the rider, based on report feedback, is that the rider no longer need to concentrate on the manual shifting duties, and can spend more of his attention on riding (like going faster or riding safely).:thumb:
