Which r1 model r u trying to find duperman??

 

i always admire the black 07-08 R1 which is in the company (ZF) opposite mine

hi guys, i'm currently looking to upgrade to a R1 very soon and would just like to ask a few questions and would really appreciate the help of you seniors

 

I saw an R1 '08 @ I-motoring yesterday. Full black, with Akra full-system and PC3. FBF plate 09 registered.. Was quoted 20.5k. Do you guys think it's a good deal?

 

My 2nd question would be where could I find a shop which deals more with selling class2 bikes? I've been around queensway, ubi, and kaki bukit area and there was only about 2 or 3 shops selling R1 '07 and above. I'm starting to think it's very hard to find.

all shops are carrot shop.. so best is find 1 that give u the best deal for ur trade in and freebies.. last time when i bought

my bike, i went to a few shops and tell them the best quote i have for my rvf and the freebies they add in to force them to give me abit more out of the deal and i pretty well got a nice deal.

but tbh i think 20.5k machine is too ex for it.. if its otr i think still can consider.. but best is look around a little more.. dun rush into buying..

i heard r1 pillions always complain their legs feel like it's on a bbq pit...so mus change the endcan and y-pipe to aftermarket ones den won't be so hot...is this true?

Nope, just FF Helmet, short leather gloves and riding boots.....for local rides.

 

Shopping...dont really goes shopping on R1 cos no panniers, top box nor prefer haversack.

Took me 4days. Cos abit delay due to many bike. Me replace plug coolant eo valve springs n shims.

Sian... This morning bike broke down just in front of my company entrance.

 

Mayb can considered lucky cos i reached workplace liao. No choice but to take half day to tow for repair.

 

Mech told me tat its either rectifier or coil problem n also tat my wiring connecting to the rectifier partially burnt.

 

The most expensive will b the wiring cos it costs 500+ for a full set n it doesnt come seperately

 

Luckily the mech managed to repair the partially burnt portion n i was like :bow:

 

In the end its my rectifier problem n mech recommended to change battery also as its life already weakened but i just changed my battery 4 mths ago

 

No choice but to replace the battery, rectifier n installed a voltmeter to play safe.

 

Total damages $370 including towing fees

Yup i did.

 

Better go n do V/C even u can get good mileage on full tank. U never know when ur valve will bend... Will end up paying more then wat u need to pay.

Waa.. i bought mine at BikePro 2years back '08 model at $20.8k with a FL plate.... 2 years later he still dare quote u $20.5 FBF... Naise la tat shop.. u "Consider" lo... LOLxx
