Bro, same thing happened to me before. Found out that the "engine cut-off switch" was worned.

Aniwae, replaced the switch & didn't face that problem anymore.

My bike did a mid-ride mati stunt on me this morning while i was... "hehehe" chasing a busa along SLE. What happened was i was at almost full throttle, then rode over a little bump and thereafter all i can hear is the sound of the wind and heavy engine braking.... Was in the middle of the ex'way so i let the bike cruise along but didnt clutch in and continue with some throttle. The engine restarted again and the busa was gone. Darn...

 

As mentioned, my TPS was replaced. Ignition cable as what pcr mentioned shouldnt cause mid-ride engine mati? And mine is the '02 model, would the ignition keyhole being "prostituted" cause engine to cease?

 

What surprised me is that this is supposed to be new technology bike with EFi... and i dont expect these kinda problem to exist. When i was riding a decade ago on bikes with older technology, i didnt experience such problems. Seems like the saying of the older bikes are hardy and durable given the simplicity of the mechanism holds some truth.

Thanks for your advise Bro ! I suspected that too... And I on-off it a few times, since then for the past two days, it seems ok...

 

Once again thanks, will change the switch and monitor it...

 

Oh yes. Loose kill switch sometimes is the problem. Happened to my ex. Jut cleaned it and ok already. Or u can change.

i suggest maxwell market. that's a carpark next to it, opp the tooth relic temple. those keen can come visit my place and check out the city view, esp those can make it earlier.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check my kill-switch. Apparently I seldom use it to off my engine cos someone told me it might prematurely terminate the coil. Maybe change or clean it see how. But then again, would that be the cause engine mati after downshifting bit aggressively? Hmmm.... Seems like my bike is telling me not to speed/downshift too hard. I have a "Agua" TDM. Hahahaa!!

As promised. Relive the good old memories. Enjoy a piece of TDM history. My first class 2 bike. The ride feel was amazing. Lots of torque and comfy for commuting or touring.

That me.... When I went for my bike inspection, this is what the inspector advise me cos normally I off the bike by the "cut off" switch instead of the normal turning the key to off mode...

Me too ! I'm only available after 10pm when my class end...

Crazy prices... Bad for couples, worst for guests... Only holding the dinner under the void deck or community centre would loose to much $$$....

Yup, Daniel has got taste for exotic bikes and are always well maintained. You beat me to getting something from him hahaha. Someone offered my TDM850 an attractive price for me to go for the TDM900. Now its with firdhaus, unless he sold it. I ever thought of getting back a TDM900 and I almost jumped on the deal by vtr firestorm. It was a sweet deal and closed very quickly. Well... trying different bikes is an experience too. Most bikes are good bikes anyway. We all jump ship at some point in time, does not mean the bike is not good :)
