Heh...tim17..if the crack on your rpm scale plate is not obvious and still intact, and needle still ok..I think its should still work unless the two circuit board (one directly under the induction coil) is not damage. If rmp does not register reving anymore..either one the circuit board is liao then..likely the one with the coil...it akes the other one to break than its laio also. Not sure what's the cost though.

ah pek... why don't you open a bike parts shop.. you seem to know the part price very well..

To Wadafark $ tim17...

Ok the whole meter assembly is made up of..in the following sequence..

1)

The outer chrome like 'plastic' covers (x2). Get from LAB cheong one is $10.00 each..but he every time out of stock....LOL! Original is about $30-$60 ea.

2)

There is a black plastic bridge piece that support this two covers..hard to damage..its semi rubberish.

3)

The internal white piece..very fragile..over tighten screw also can crack the screw stem. This is the piece where your bulbs and meter circuitry seats on the inner other side.

4)

Mounted on this white chassis is your wire hardness on the outside and rpm meter by 4 screws (two for the meter scale plate and two for electrical supply wires - green and grey) and speedo assembly (its a whole assembly..and careful about the reset dial stalk..it has a very fine philip screw that locks it to the speedo assembly..this has to come off before your speedo can be taken out).

5)

The front black plastic lens holder and chrome len's triming are also seperate parts that can be bought seperately.

That's about it. Yes...parts can be gotten from Chong Aik, Ever Success (former K&N Filter distributor) and some others. If you want to save cost..get their price and than go check with LAB that this places has it..he can get it for you from them even cheaper if he do not have his own lobang..original of cause...just be fierce with him! he never f with me one..I always goes back and Kow_Pei.

About fixing meter...anytime you guys get the parts..hoiler me and I've it DIY for you all..small matter la..see one time also you know how to do...LOL!

i properly will glue it back... cement glue...

Ah Pek, any idea how much would the white housing for the RPM meter cost? And the lights! How'd you do it? Ver S meter dials are coloured orange right? If I change the bulb to white, it'll still be orange/red..

For the certainty of death and the knowledge of life's fragility, makes it worth living.

Btw...if you people are game for it...you too can do this to your meter at the same time..would set you back $60  to do it though. Check out the images...its from my PB1.

The white part don't know leh..its a whole piece that support the speedo also..can call Ever Success up and they can quote over the phone..but they are a bit expensive. Get the quote then get LAB to get...cheaper. If you are a Mech...normally you get 25% off.

As for the lites..get the strip type..one side is has glue. The difficult part invovles very fine soldering job. Onnces you got the wireing done...tap the voltage supply from your original bulb wiring...and then sticck the lighting led strip close to the top around the casing rim. At the same time...you can also change the glass type bulb to the flat led type...both small and big (T10) using their original socket.

Colours..white should be better..if use red...may be too red..if the meter plate scale panel are silk screen in red. May be not...but the bulb has red tinted glass. See the original bulb first...if red..than get red one for the strip led.

The brightness comes from the strip very flat led type..T10 and the small flat led for the smaller bulb does little. Yes..simple wiring but stripping the meter to pieces is a must do to access the area.

fq plate version s... as i using 15w40 ro 20w40..

k dat was crude typing. was in a hurry.

im riding fq plate version s. and i dun rev that much. max till like 6krpm. even waves can take over me damn easily. so is it okay to use 'thick oils' like 20w40? coz i think it'll be a waste if i pour in fully syn.

and chain wise. mine's getting slacker. the tension gauge like gonna end soon. so, is it okay to change chain without sprocket? if WITH sprocket, how much for a norm quality, as in last for around a year then change? coz im under SUPER SPANKY TIGHT budget.

i see STP octane booster damn attractvie. does this gimmicks work? once used, i needa continuously run on these additives is it?

and signal lights wise, is there an wasy for me to have brighet bulbs? fix in wat type of bulb?

I'd rather get a Leo Vince than a Louis Vuitton.

The multigrade oil you using is just fine...I tot if you want thicker..then if there's a xx/50w..it be great. Mine is about there as I blend myself.

Yes, it's okay to chain just the chain without changing the sprocket if budget is tight for the moment. If you grip the chain by the link at the back of your sprocket and shake it left and right and has a lot of movement...confirm your chain serve its time already.

As long as your sproket teeth does not wear to thin and sharp looking for the back one. Have to check the front Primary drive gear too..if tet is 'curl' like or curve like..this you ahve to change b4 putting on a new chain..otherwise..the gear can break anytime in sudden harsh pick-up and also spoil the roller bearing of your new chain. Save up and get the "X-ring" chain...no regrets!

Cost for back sproket is about $35 to $45 including installation. Those pack with blue label is as good as original Honda's (cost $80+ to $120 last that I inquired). I ahve tried them and are very reliable. Not sure how true..but hear say that red label original Honds packing, though say "..Japan" also make in China. Get the one that has big hollow cut on its platter plate..they are lighter for chain load.

STP Octane is pretty mild but you do get addicted. Not sure how many "point" added to your "ron" but there are better one like NOS, HKS and NX. Take NX nitro for example. If ratio mixes is right..you add 5 points more to your ron octane...say you pumped ron 95..in this case, you will get 100. NOS Nitro is 7 points.

Then again...your ride at only rpm 6...not even in the proper "power band" of your bike...it be a waste but you do have the advantge of a smoother ride and a cleaner engine combustion chamber. Higher octane works best at very high rpm and the cleaner the engine combustion chamber gets. CAREFUL though...the label says.."For Racing Use Only". Btw...b4 you indugle in such xtra 'luxury' get those fuel injector cleaner for two tank usage first to cleanse your carbs.

Above said..base on personal long time play play
