hi guys..

ive juz acquired a FP plate V-S on October..

pretty reliable and simple to ride and maintain bike for a lady like mi,

however good things dun lasts, got into a hit & run crash by a car while reversing(i believed) @ my mscp in the wee hours.. *sad*.. so guys take note of where are the 'danger' spots when parking @ a mscp so dun let wad unfortunate things dat happened to mi repeat on anione here..

Apparently my baby was hit on the left side b4 the huge force crashes the bike to fall to its right side, thus my bike suffered a big dent on both sides of my tank *sad*, handlebar gone, meter gone, rear pillion stand gone(RHS),exhaust dented, tail suffered abit of minor cracks,2point engine caseguard dented inwards *sad sad*..lets stop the damage list going on b4 i cant go on animore. :(

Can i seek ani experts here,is there anione who succeeded attempting installing speedometer of similiar size compared to the oem set example from RXZ etc..?? I'll gladly appreciate if there's pics to be seen so roughly i noe wad u guys are talking abt,the terms etc ya..

This is a terrible incident! I guess nobody witnessed the car knock your bike since its mscp and in early morning.

I saw something like that once. A lorry reverse into an X-1 (the bike, not Ah Pek's metal conditioner), pause a few seconds and cabut! So I picked it up and left the plate number of the lorry on the bike. But the bike not much damage cos got fairing. Up to the owner to find the driver.

Meter repair?..no problem. Bike shop price for a job like that is about there. but its the quality of the job...nothing beats DIY_ing and moreover you learn.

Normally mototiam don't stock these type of spare and they have to send someone down town to get it. After that, they would 'rush' thru the job as there are other simpler job like servicing bike (change eo and filter..etc.) which they can do more and the return for the day is higher. Doing the meter takes much much longer.

You can get the white internal housing chassis for about $50 to $56 at FJT (Rowell road) or Chong Aik (Desker road) or may be LAB. Chiong one is only $25 to $30 and work just as well (done two already). The chrome plastic cover is just comestic and original caused about $35 to $60 each (cnan't quite recall) but if you can get chiong one at LAB, it'as $10 only (this was way back but everytime out of stock). Hope your covers mounting screws are still there on it though. Cost?..pay what you deem reasonable...LOL.

You decide. My contact is 90670020 to discuss further.

wahhh...so cheap meh the internal housing chassis at choing aik...i checked with choing aik last week n they quote me $86 just for it...i tink my face carrot face maybe.....i tink $200 pretty expensive....somewhere in the forum got some fella did a thread diy step by step to open the meter complete with pictures.......but since apek is around...thats even better!....

I ride at 70km/hr only...please please dont blow2 at me or overtake me dangerously....wait i change into Incredible Hulk n dont know why my little baby bike will always be ahead of u if u do that

LOL!...carrot face or baby face. Careful with this fellus lah, parang all gold ones these days. Read the battery thread..ppl pay $200 and $150 for a S4 battery.

Check with "Wayne" here somewhere here or in class 2, he bought his chiong white housing for $25 or $35 only from Choing Aik I think.

Anyway, in the sales garage here, someone is selling his chrome meter platic covers for $33..just posted yesterday only.

What is "800" what what OWS meant by that? Don't understand what you emant by "shaking"..vibration and roughness or what?

Grounding..6 point..think you can explain how they does it. I have seen many grounding done..and most of them, logically the connectivity does not make sense.

what do you mean by max gear ? are you riding a pb1 or ver s/r ? our bikes max is ard 180km/h - 200km+/h. explain pls :dot:

After talking to ah pek, I totally agree with his point of view of grounding. He is an expert in electrical.

let me explain for him .. ows 800 is the type of the oil for OWS.. it viscosity is 10w40 ..

to fi_east: i have no issue using this EO n is still using currently for 5k already.. grounding won't be the problem and maybe is the OWS 3 in 1 treatment ?? i making a guess here anyway but i pretty sure nt ur grounding cau u still have ur original wire intact..

LOL!...may be because you previously has X-1R treatment and the coating still have not worn out. Btw..I sms you quite sometime back that your bottle replacement is ready..yet to receive your reply...still want or not..my $$s is hanging!

Proper grounding DOES do smooth out vibration to a certain extent but won't be explaininh here but remind me if we ever meet up for Korr_Pee_Orh again. But for fi_east case, having the adversity effect after grounding, that's one thing that puzzles me and that's why I'm curious how the grounding was done. As said before..the term "point" does not applied to me. If its meaning to say, the terminal or where its tapped for earth back to battery -ve, then that's "point" but not effective grounding.

To fi_east...I suggest you "roll back" to your initial type of eo used the next time to see if its help. If there are still problem..may be it be of interest to try my recommendation. As for grounding, its best that you have the people to explain to you why and how its done and why its connected in such a manner..at least you know their 'theory'[ for grounding works. Mechs are not electrician.

Actually its true ah pek, the grounding done by the mech didnt make sense at all... charge me $50 for it, all i can see he do it connect wires to only the NUTS!! (next time i shld take pics to show u all).. no connection the the spark plug area and didnt see any cutting of original wires.. i feel like kena cheated man... i am riding a ver S.. You all mention top speed ver s is ard 170, but at that speed doesnt your bike vibrate like hell???, mine at 90 already vibrating so much, like the bike asking for help....

Not sure about Version "S" or "R" as they have power restrictor..but again, lots of people had it bypassed and have achieved higher speed that 180km/h. For my PB1, it goes all the way to maxs of the meter and no vibration and this is done with a top box behind loaded..smooth like "Tofu"..but I have X-1R in eo and fuel premixed in tank.

Your vibration problem that comes in high speed is of "balance" problem..its the best I can think of..such as..tyres uneven wear and tear, cone bearing, unlevel front folk oil..etc. If its a head on accident bike before..then possiblity of front folk upper and lower brackets may be off. But for a start, I will check tyres uneven wears and pressure. Soft back suspension can also affect handling. Not to oversight is the crash guard..if you use 3 point type...have to check if the bolts body length circumference is of the right size and properly tighten...not the length of the bolt.

I will want to comment on the vibration part. When i got hold of my Ver s, there was alot of vibration like what fi_east mentioned. I felt that my bike isnt performing. I went to tune my bike and the vibration did reduce slightly. Then i tried equipment extreme PA Auto and PA Ignite. Not only does the vibration drop drastically, there was also improvement of pickup and lesser engine brake; my ride was so much smoother. Talking about grounding, I think AH_PEK is the best to talk to, treat him a cup of kopi and he will tell you about the basics of electronics and how does it work. Seriously, even though I did not study about electronics but I knew some basics. E.g how does current flow and heard of the star-delta/ delta-star circuit.

ok that is all about electronics.

Now we shall take about oils. Previously i was using maxima. I did not use any fuel addictive. Engine wise is totally uncomparable with AH_PEK's X1-R. The ride was really smooth, vibration was lessened and it felt really different. My friend tried be my ver s and he didnt believe me when i said it is really different and thus he tried on my bike. He enjoyed it too, and was asking me if he can get it for his scrambler. Good recommendation by Ah_PEK :thumb:

Regarding top speed, most of our bikes can reach 180 to 200+km/h. But then again, alot of factors will affect the performance. Sprockets ratio, tires, knowing how to drag gears and your body posture.
