My bike giving me problems, I serviced the carbs but the problem still remains, bike sometimes stutters as if its running on 3 or even 2, I suspect its the fuel cork, could be rust clogging up, I'm not sure. There's still fuel, lots of it but its acting like it has none.

Mine only happen when fuel goin to res..took out the fuel cork myself n clean it and everything works fine nw:)

Anyone knows where to get new side panels for Project Big One? The panels that cover the coolant reservoir and fuses.

And also, are the panels the same with other versions of Super 4s?

Thank you.

One or two of the main hardness wires neat the handle bar under the tank likely partially broken..example the "kill switch" wire or supply wire.

Discovered a hole on my exhaust header, can someone direct me to a place where I can patch it without buying a new header? It's annoying but made the bike sound more gnarly haha

You can try and buy epoxy putty and patch the hole.

Hi bros i recently got a ver s and trying to learn as much as i can. Need help from the experienced out there.

My bike is overheating way too fast. Just did a coolant flush and it was brown in colour, heard that its not good but what does it actually mean to see brown colour??? When the mech insert new coolant, can see that the coolant pump is working as the coolant leveldrops when the bike is on. After changing to new coolant, the problem still persists. Issit a better solution to change new radiator and thermostat? Or is there any other factors that could possibly cause the overheating?

Thanks in advance

Brown color is rust from your cooling system. System has corrosion. How you define overheating? Temp light goes on? Cos it's normal for the bike engine to feel warm at your legs. Touch the left top side of your radiator after 15 mims ride, does it feel hot? Let your bike heat up in traffic and the fan should turn on, can hear it whirl, or see it spinning

How do i solve the cooling system corrosion??? Yes temp light goes on jus after riding for about 20-30mins. Riding in expressway then after that exiting and riding for low speed due to traffic lights and normal roads. I have been doing it for quite some time and temp light goes on and sometimes blinking. For the fan itself i can hear it after riding and parking the bike. i can still hear it whirl for about 1-2mins then the sound will stop, after that then i off my bike, thats how i check if the fan is still working, it shld be one of the methods right??? And also i have tried touching the left top side of radiator and it does feel hot

1) Make sure the next coolant u put in is not mixed with tap water and has anti-rust agent.

2) If thermostat has been changed before or taken out..unlikely ur propblem is not caused by this.

3) If ur radiator is an old one and has rusted brownish coolant found in ur reserve tank b4..likely the radiator tubing is badly rusted and causing constritivce flow..thus heat builds up faster than being cooled on time. Yes..have to change raditaor.

4) Since u mentioned fan is turning..radiator fan switch and water temperaure sensor should be okay..so is the pump that u mentioned.

5) The other possibility is that ur EO may not be enough or at too low a level. I had come across 3 cases where a certain brand of eo was used dropped to 0.5 to nought from 3.2 litres.

THanks Ah Pek, will try to take a look at all the factors u mentioned first.

My ver s had everything working except the coolant pump, so I suspect either pump not working or your tubing is block or kink and can't get enough flow.my advice is to get it fix ASAP you don't want to blow a gasket with an overheating engine.

Dear All and Ah Pek William,

Any one experience this before, and can advise? I ride my Version S daily to work, but last weekend (Sat and Sun) totally didn't touch it, on Monday (today) morning start-up, the sound of the engine/exhaust is raspy and not smooth.

After warm-up idle about 1 minute, I ride off, find that there is quite serious loss-of-power, reduced engine-braking, and at low revs especially e.g. when moving off in 1st gear (when the rev about 3-4k still climbing), the bike is slightly jerky, like want to stall engine--jerky like newbie learning to ride and don't know how to control clutch feeling.

This happens in every gear up to 3rd, for example, once the rev climb to 5k or so in 1st, I shift to 2nd, once rev dropped to 3-4k, the jerky, loss-of-power feeling, and exhaust note very raspy and choppy (not smooth like how our S4 all supposed to be), like farting pang pui *prat prat prat* type of sound?

Ok, so I think maybe is weekend didn't ride, bike need to warm up, but even after reach my workplace carpark (32km ride), still this problem above mentioned persists. Any advise or suggestion guys? Valve problem, engine problem, exhaust?

*Note: as following Ah Pek's advice I occasionally (3-4 times a week) rev the bike up to 10k rpm or so, playing the pick-up and also to "clear carbon". Otherwise normally i shift gears around 5-6k, occasionally 7-8k rpm.

Thanks all experienced bro and sis for any advice.

KR,

Kenny

**edit to add on: The bike chain is well-oiled, and based on touching the exhaust individually I note ALL 4 cylinders are firing and working, so not a problem there--initially I thought might be 1 cylinder down. I am running on Ah Pek's EO (around 6k km by now) and his coolant too. All else stock, didn't disturb anything. :)

tiku,

Thanks for the reply, problem resolved. 1 out of the 4 spark plugs gone. Changed a set of 4, all good now, even more power than before feels like. So now I know what 1 cylinder down feels like, generally exhaust sounds weird, idling like want to stall, and overall loss of torque/power, have to throttle a lot to move. Previously riding Vespa 150 for nearly 10 years, single cylinder only, if spark plug gone won't even run. Now I know...

Thanks,

KR,

Kenny
