Aiya, I also riding Phantom, just go lor, no need to be sweeper, marker then can go one mah, and want to film, just film lor, but from your own perspective lah, cannot move up and down the column.

Convoy Riding Component

 

Start Point - Sembawang Park Carpark

Meetup - 1600hrs onwards to mingle and get to know each other...

briefing - 1645hrs

Move out - 1715hrs

Arrival - 1815hrs

 

Route

Sembawang park - SLE - TPE - ECP - Chalet

 

total distance is 40Km and below, time to complete is 1hr +-30mins.

Although route is long but this has the smallest possibility of heavy traffic, only place to expext slow downs are from Sembawang park to SLE itself due to the numerous traffic lights.

 

For all official big convoy riding, i require a minimum code of conduct from all riders, hence pls read up on below article, no nonsense and showboating are tolerated.

 

Here are some highlight when riding with the KNIGHTS.

 

In the big family of Phantom knights, we emphasize alot of defensive/safe riding.

Some of our Phantom riders are new riders on the road, Whom might not rode in a convoy group before. We'll glad to impart courtesy road practice, proper convoy formation and to cultivate good riding habits that last a lifetime.

Regardless you are a old timer or a new rider, I hope you'll just spare a few minutes reading up this to prepare yourself to ride with the KNIGHTs.

 

 

A guideline when riding with the Knights. ( I know its a hassle and tiring to read on long writeup , so I just keep it short and sweet )

 

1) Courteous Counts - Interact more,Smile,Say Hi !

 

2) Punctuality - Wont be nice to let the whole group to wait for one. If you gonna be late, do inform in advance with at least a sms!

 

3) Follow the Traffic rules and Regulation - Do not feel pressure, Do not speed, We will WAIT in all scenerio.

 

4) No stunts and indecent act! - We aint clown isnt it ?

 

5) Always in protectective Gear- Not in your pyjamas or marketing attire!

 

6) Keep in staggered formation and never to overtake unnecessarily especially overtaking lead bike. Always signal your intention.

 

7) Lost - If you are lost, call or msg someone. might not be immediately. wait patiently for call for direction to regroup.

 

8) Remember, there is no GLORY if you crash . Ride Safe. We are here to enjoy our ride, to learn and share.

 

9) Give way to other road users, we are the main nuisance slowing the traffic down not them.

Gentlemen, allow me to say something?

Understand that I myself cannot commit for this event hence unable to help Ham & Mad out.

However, after reading thru, I think I should sound out something, not as a position of a green colour, but frm my experiences..

 

To conduct a convoy, is always not an easy thing to do. Much less to say an event.

Proper planning for the route, pre-event route recce till to the main event, there's always inpromptu things mushroom-ing every time.

 

I believe Ham & Mad has iron out all the important issues and still trying to tackle whatever is incoming with whatever resources they have.

Kudos to them.

And I vote for the minimum of 400cc as helpers, simply because, the convoy is getting big.

 

It would be wiser for the bigger cc bikes to, mark, as the rider has to be courages, daring but yet still careful, as the rider has to shoot from 1st appointed mark point to another or to simply join back.

 

IF the convoy is small and managable enough, and the speed is just 90-100km/h(on TA 200 meter), then, I would say those who went thru the learning lesson can help.

 

However, (as I do not know the route thingy), with such a number of attendees, it would be more wise & advisable for a minimum of 400cc.

 

As for Sweeping, well, I believe its not just a case of using the broom to sweep. Small convoys may not need sweepers when its managable, as everyone, should be brief-ed and understood.

But when the convoy is big, sweepers comes in to help on the lead and markers, as they can help maintain convoy discipline, but also at the same time, ensuring that they could lead the convoy when its being broken up.

So that the markers and the lead can still continue to do their job.

 

As for the fliming, I would suggest those with a pillion, or as passenger in car would do suffice.

However, not objecting to personal recording, it would be wiser if the rider just, use whatever recording appliances/techniques as to own, and just stay in the convoy, just to enjoy the ride and not worry about anything else.

 

It is, and too dangerous when one Key Appointment Holder(KAH) is being tasked of too many tasks..

 

Convoy in PK, is all abt Safety First & Discipline, not for orgyniser's organiser's, convoy planner's or whosoever's benefit/gain, but for the attendees knowledge and experience...

Do bear in mind also, the KAHs, or planner/organiser, are all doing things out of own good will, and own's risk, and again, benefitting/gaining from nothing...

 

And so, I hope everyone would have fun & enjoyed the whole event thru out...
