I hate it when other bikers zoom pass me at a very close range at high speeds when the road is clear. Not sure how to explain...my bike would either get sucked in behind them due to the wind draft(not sure is it the right word), or almost get blown out of the lane I'm travelling at. I just can't seem to stick to the path I want to travel when they do that.

Not sure if you guys noticed this...on expressways, there are some lanes which has a small path that is sunk in (maybe due to heavy vehicle's wheels, can spot the line easily when the road is damp). I hate it when my tires drop into the 'drain' due to gravity and the bike like have it's own mind on deciding where to go...I have to struggle to steer out from the drain and keep on the other side of the lane.

I hate vans from malaysia.

When I ride, I don't mind the rain because it helps me understand the pains of those who don't have a roof over their heads and so I will learn to appreciate my accomodation more. I don't mind the sun as I can exploit the heated tarmac to bring out the most of my tyres making me grin from ear to ear. I don't mind being passed by huge vehicles that creates cross winds reducing my stability. So I can constantly be reminded that I should never overestimate myself in everything I do as I am still mere mortal. I don't mind being caught in the chilling night shivering while on the NSHW because I am always reminded that there're people out there in underprivileged countries deprived of their entitlement to a warm cosy home. So when I return home, I can always thank God for his mercy that I don't have to endure the cold out there. I don't mind getting stuck in jams on my bike sweating inside out because it helps me to lose weight effectively. I also get to talk to the next guy caught in the jam and make new friends regardless of their nationality. I don't mind being tailgated by a Evo, WRX or come what may because I can grant them their wish to embaress themselves when they challenge a teleporting machine like the R1. See me pull away faster than their cars can catch up.

But I can never ever accept it when I am treated like a second class road user when I am not even allowed to ride in the lane like I was trained in BBDC when other cars just zoom past me deliberately. I cannot accept it when I am not allowed to park in the shopping mall even though I have every intention to spend money there. I cannot accept it when a girl looks at me in detestation because I am a rider and not a driver. I cannot accept it when I ride to the church, I am told to park away from the church as my bike is an eyesore to the elite dominated church premises.

Motorcycling is a choice. Not because we have no choice.

indeed well said. its becoming to be an eyesore when ppl see bikers as some loser. stereotyping is the word.

I hate riding when I can't find where I want to go, or going in wrong directions. going round and round at low speed, trying to look at the road names, especially during hot weather or when its raining, is not fun. haha

Brilliant writing from Germany :D

That's the reason given the choice (for whatever coming of age thing), I picked a bike and stuck with it.

These days I work in a rather upmarket position and I smile inside when my colleagues and clients mistake a humble custom Phantom for a much grander machine, and call it a Harley. See everyone loves bikes! :D

I don't keep myself safe by defensive riding; nay, that I reserve for protecting -other- riders from the menaces on the road we know all too well.

I realise I get to cruise unmolested in the middle of whatever lane I wish to be, at whatever speed if everyone slows down and stares at me& my bike :p

That phyrric bike awareness victory is brought about by the fact that MANY drivers are really very busy checking out 'interesting' things at their surroundings instead of actually, driving! Why do you think they jam their brakes for no reason on an empty road?

What I hate most of all is that the authorities do not care about the truth behind motorcycle-related dangers and continue to label bikers as some breed of reckless speed demons. Right, dear lawmakers, which of you lot actually RIDE motorcycles to work and back every day, in so-called smooth ERP controlled traffic?

Motorcycles are perceived to be rich man's toys in Europe. I have colleagues who take long leave to ride from Wurzburg to Istanbul. And they call it a well deserved holiday. I have 2 particular colleagues one from Wurzburg & one from Bremen especially excited about motorcycles. Spent months trying to overhaul his bike so he can start to enjoy the wind on the road. But the perception is so much different here.

I hate when there are other vehicles (except motorbike) is around. I like it when no vehicles (except motorbike) is allowed on the road. Less ppl on the road, less pollution.

i have 2 new pet peeve -

F**k off you stupid lorries and vans who think you are so fast that keep on driving in the middle or right most lane.

Also, F**k to LTA for drawing up even more bus lanes but 0 enforcement, making turning more and more difficult with a$$holes drivers speeding and ignoring the rules.

i hate hate hate hate the rain.

i like packed jam. like bumper to bumper. easier to see for cars changing lane instead of normal traffic whereby they will suddenly change lane.

i dont really like those big bike riding at 150kph pass me. though im rider too but its very dangerous.

I don't know why but big bikes like to cut in front of me without warning and slow down. They do not signal at all. The worst is peak hour when car and lorry drivers who "know" me are keeping a safe following distance and let me take up a space of a car. Suddenly some big bikes zoom past and cut across my safety distance.

Some even jam brake in front and start tailgating the vehicle in front of me 30cm from the bumper. I notice a lot of these "superbikers" can't keep a precise position in lane forcing me to take evasive action.

Small cc bikes follow behind me or lead me at a safe distance or just lanesplit past after I notice them and shift aside.

ps. Don't try to impress me with your cls 2 bike, I like old customs :p
