4 Seconds distance during wet weathers?

Utmost bullshit.

You'll be surprised how some cars will still cut in-front of you during rainy days.

The simple fact is accidents happen everyday, be it your fault or others.

Majority of which includes spills, skids, loss of control which do not appear in the papers.

For these accidents, proper attire would probably save you alot of pain and skin.

Some riders swear by T shirt, shorts and open face/ half face/ pisspot/ no face...etc helmets.

It's a free world. Free as in you can choose to crash in a proper attire or the stuff as mentioned.

Naive?

Naive, ignorance or living in your own lalaland will not form a invisible protection layer when you crash.

It's quite disheartening to see riders on $30k machines with $30 helmets and $3 flip flops :p

There was a thread somewhere where this guy asked where to buy a half cap or something becos he rides a scoot and a half cap probably goes well with that.

To each his own.

But i always will remember this accident how the helmet split in half and the victim was killed.

Riding a motorcycle is a choice.

Wearing what helmet and attire is also a choice.

But the dun let the 'image' blind the common sense.

Its common knowledge that in Singapore, most motorcycle experts do not ride a motorcycle.

;)

But the biggest irony is that while they drive, they probably view bikes as pests which must not be allowed to share the roads. To have a motorcycle in 1st lane is the same as first degree murder to these experts.

Talk is cheap. Who is writing in to ST to rebutt on the article (both this one and the main article on accident statistics)?

Will be submitting mine tonight. Who else is in?

It's time riders whine less in front of their PCs and make their voices heard.

Past: KDX200, LC4 400, LC4 620, GSXR750WR

I wouldn't bother.

I've written in many times to Sh1tty Times, to argue against their points, articles, or contributors. And all of the times, their only response was "thank you for your letter, we can only print a limited number of bla bla crap sh1t crap frak"

Why bother? Anything that doesn't suit their agenda gets thrown out anyway.

Not all people can afford a good armored jacket.

when has it come to a point a decent armoured jacket is more expensive than a bike? a decent one cost only $100+ (not asking u to get a full leather which cost thousands), a bike cost a few thousands. very ironic u can get a bike but not afford min protection.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

its a correct article, alot of riders here don't gear up.

but i think we should be used to the media potraying us as rebels or minorities. its the fact here. so i don't really give a damn about what the others think.

reminds me of the 1 percent badge the Hell's Angel always wear to remind themselves they are black sheeps.

mabbe its time we all wear race suit with neck protector the next time we hit the road. But does that prevent accident or drivers from hitting us when we wait for the red light to turn green in a junction? Or does it prevent Sim Ming Editor from hitting us while she is busy smsing or calling on her phone?

Yes the accident rates and death rate of riders are high. Of cos its high stupid dumbarse statistic. But that doesnt mean its always riders mistake. Even if i ride proper gear and proper street traffic rules, i still get hit by MF from behind with drivers playing with their iphones whatapps. or some ladies wearing their lipstick droping something. or fast and furious wannabes.

They should do a report on Singaporean Drivers too.

"Don't They Ever Think?"

Almost every time when I am on the road, I will see some ******* driving while talking on handphone or busy chit chatting with the passenger(s) while looking at their direction instead of paying attention to the traffic.
