sorry about my typo, i got the PA2 not PA :p

will try the iridium plugs when the current ones are due for change but don't think i'll do the knn thingy

hmmm... in sg, how old would one be when he is classified as old uncle? just curious ;)

My young department secretary always call me uncle.......o_O anyway that's besides the point.... In SG, once u exceed 30 (my perspective), many people will call u uncle liao....:)

Generally, I belief it is in the heart.

If u dare to venture (safely) and live life to the fullest, this will be even more meaningful than someone living till 100 years old n not experienced or done any thing in life. So don't be too disturbed.....

For those that has seen yesterday's Oprah's "Life and Death" series. Those being interviewed has chosen to lead a happy and active life even though they have been diagnosed of cancer (usually terminal stage). It was so touching to hear from some of them how they have confronted the thoughts of going to die and how they planned to live through it. Bottom line: Look forward and be positive; Live life to the fullest.... :thumb:

For those that have missed it, I have enclosed one of the speakers video link:

... Any priorities within this list that you can suggest?

a matter of personal preference n priorities :shades:

things i have:

+ top box ... no choice coz i have lots of barang-barang to carry around and i dun wanna put dirty/wet stuffs (e.g. rain gear, shoes, junk) into the under-seat storage (reserved for helmets and clean stuffs only). top box dirty can take down to wash

+ electric or air horn (life saving) ... MOST IMPORTANT & TOP PRIORITY; if the drivers can't see me, make sure they hear me. with windows wound up and radio playing, our stock horn could sound just like a mosquito buzzling pass the drivers' ears.

can buy your choice alarm (e.g. mustafa, autobac, etc) then DIY or get motortiam (e.g. tai hin) to fix ($25), or buy/fit at altogether. i'm using stebel magnum2 :thumb:

+ alarm (security) ... i don't want bike to go AWOL; SW already has HISS & steering lock but heard the crooks can easily overcome the steering lock by force. why i got the cheap disc lock alarm? my opinion posted is here

+ hazard lights (safety) ... very useful when stopping by road shoulder to put on rain gear; mine was fixed the normal/easy way (switch next to horn and powered together with ignition) but can consider fixing switch inside left locker and have it alive even when ignition is turned off. this way, we can off the engine/headlights and still on the hazard lights. switch is locked away from itchy hands and wet weather

+ PA2 & grounding; i run >66km to/fro work per day, so smooth engine and better FC would be a big plus on the road. i fitted mine at equipment extreme coz its open on sundays, others also have

+ IU cover/jacket; got mine from auntie shop for $12 just next to LAB. initially took blue colour to match my bike but then changed to black coz it looks more classy with the black front panel

akan datang:

+ headlight protector

+ grip

+ denso iridium spark plugs

change only when current ones needs replacement:

+ rollers & multivar (low/high end performance)

+ balancers (less vibration)

+ bigger/wider wind shield (more comfort)

+ bike seat cover (comfort & design)

+ spark plug wires (more torque)

no intention:

+ PA ignite (more torque)

+ HID kit (brighter whiter)

+ steel braided brake hose (more sensitive braking)

+ voltmeter (monitor batt)

+ spot lights (safety in the dark, illegal in sinkapor)

+ stereo system (entertainment)

Yosh~ SWing coming on 12th...

Looking forward to this babe~ :D :D :D

Gonna really have fun liao~

before accepting bike and riding out, suggest you do thorough physical condition check on the bike. although there's a 1 year warranty, but returning to get it fixed will take time and cause inconvenience o_O

copied from someone's post (green are my addition)

+ go round bike to make sure no scratches on body/paintwork/wind shield (heard quite often at pillion's handle bar area). if got scratches, insist on replacement. if shop say no stock or replace later, better to get black-n-white

+ test all lights... nornal/high headlights, passing light, signal light, brake lights, underseat cabin light

+ test horn working

+ test IU working by putting in cash card

+ test both keys can start bike (if installment, probably get only 1 key)

+ test both keys can open/lock left lockable compartment

+ check odometer reading is reasonable (new bike cannot have to many Ks)

+ check engine idle revolutions is stable and not too high (initial start around 1.7k, warmed around 1.3k)

+ test engine cut-off when side-stand is put down

+ check tool kit is there, below seat

+ mechanic to measure tyres' air pressures, increase rear pressure according to manual if carrying pillion

+ check tyres "birthday"

+ test hand brake working

+ check engine oil level, ask mechanic to "teach" you how to carry out routine eo check

+ check brake fluid levels

+ once ride out, immediately test effectiveness of brakes

remember to ask for all the things you're supposed to get... e.g. owner's manual, tool kit, spare keys (if any), insurance receipt, official purchase receipt from shop, any black-n-white for replacements, etc.

remember to register your warranty within 1 month of purchase, register online can get extra 3 months warranty from boon siew

few days after transfer, LTA will mail you the letter stating details of the bike (e.g. reg nos, chasis nos, engine nos, coe, etc) and that you're the legal owner of the bike. if you didn't get that, call shop to enquire.

recommended:

have a total of 3 keys if you intend to go for overseas trips; 1 permanently at home, 1 for use & 1 as standby when riding outside Sg. in case loose all keys while overseas, still got 1 key at home. changing whole ignition set is very expensive. usually can bargain for lower price if u buy bike from shop, i got mine for $35 each (include programming). some shops charge higher, read this thread on keys for HISS

You can also try Denso Iridium IUH24. If u can to see the Denso Catalog, this is the recommended plug for Honda Silverwings both JDM & Euro.

Note the plugs you use. Not all 4-stroke plug can be use. Cos of the different length at the threads. Using a wrong spark plug can result in loss of power to even burning a hole in your pistons.

I think the manual states U22FER9 or CR7EH-9 or CR8EH-9

BTW, why din go for iridium?

oh the plug i'm using is recommended by the owner manual..

Why are people who ride motorcycles called bikers and people who ride bikes called cyclists?

er. don't really see a point of doing that.

because i feel that it will not have much differences even if there is. it only a short period.

so i will stick with the stock plug
