Pissed off on road experiences

hi riders,its been long time i wanna share my pissed off experiences on road,especially with drivers,,as a rider/driver myself i believe i know wen it comes to bad drivers

 

After about 8 years of riding experiences ive met a few bad experiences and i will list down

 

1]years back im involve in accident wen a van driver attempted to make a uturn from a left lane of a two lanes road at d junction wen im on d right lane of same directions,he did it wen im so close to d van upon overtakin the van n suddenly witout checkin blindspot n signal,van cut into my lane and i crash on d front side of d van,i claimed n won

 

2]den theres typical incident, a taxi infront of me suddenly jam brake hard just to pick up passenger at last min,,i managed to break in time but front tyre quite close to taxi rear bumper already,,,driver received a F n kick to his front driver door from me

 

 

3]got side swipe by taxi driver while ridin,,taxi side mirror hit my hand,,bike wobble, luck able to control bike

 

Non accident but pissed me off

 

 

1]drivers like to cut bike lane even wen we are already near them,,reason is bad judgement and just becos its bike so they assumed everybike can siam dem by swerve lane or last min lane split or they think bike is slow

 

 

2]i used to hate fast drivers especially those evo/lancer or impreza/wrk who speed like nobody business on expressway,,now i reallised tat they are usually good drivers wit skills who knows wat they are doing,,now wat i hate is slow drivers which like to hog d first lane,,dey are d reason why bikes always have to lane split,,as a frequents kpe user i really hate seeing drivers travelling 70km at d first lane,,wen theres just 3 speed cameras in tat whole stretch of tunnels

That tunnel thing, sometimes bopian because you don't know where the cameras are.

 

Fast drivers? I give them chase, chase very closely, flash light, make them run, they are still human, no matter how skilled, humans make mistakes and it just takes one.

Ever consider your action might have ripple effect? Imagine throwing a stone into a pond.

 

You chase him. He go fast and drive recklessly. He or you will hit the slower motorists. All these will affect those innocent third party road users. Why is there a need to do all these? When you do this, are you any different from the reckless driver infront of you?

 

My friend was a victim of such devious and irresponsible act. He was on lane 2. There were 2 drivers speeding. 1st driver on Lane 1 overtook him recklessly by mere centimetre and went ahead. 2nd driver on lane 1 attempted the same move but clashed his into rear instead because my friend was still shocked by the 1st driver action and had slow down a little. The crash sent him off to lane 3. His bike total lose and he broke both his legs. Doctor doesnt recommend any riding in the near future.

 

You mentioned everyone is just human and makes mistake. Yes. It just take one. One silly action to cause chain of destruction.

 

What do you think of the 2 drivers? Happy? A moment of folly caused misery to someone else. Wanna race, set a date and pit it out in the circuit.

 

I for one dont care what the hell these people are doing. Just dont get me involved. They wanna die early. So be it. Just dont pulled me along.

Used to, not anymore but it wasn't because I realise how dangerous it was because I already knew it was,

 

Accident twice in unrelated cases cuz of overconfidence in bad weather, wrong angle wrong timing, could have been dead.

 

Now not so confident and hasty, lesson learnt, **** happens. I only have that much luck.

hmm, i think you got Jehuty wrong here..i believe he doesnt intend to condone fast drivers, but on the contrary, he does not agree with fast drivers having good skills. i believe he is pointing out that even though being a fast driver, all it takes is one wrong move, being humans..

how aptly named: circus with alot of clowns going into, and exiting the roundabout.

we've got cars swerving to exit from the 2nd lane, or worst, 3rd lane..

we got cars entering the roundabout even seeing bikes/cars already in the roundabout.

 

got this auntie, swerved from the 2nd lane to exit towards bukit timah, then immediately after, an angmor driving a flashy BMW with some clown antics; i was past the bukit timah exit and approaching the exit towards orchard, he saw me coming, accelerated and stopped in my tracks cuz there were other cars in the 2nd and 1st lane of the roundabout. luckily, with my years of being a driver, i saw both scenarios coming and i exited the circus unscathed!

but i illuminated the angmor's face with my high beam, and as much as i dont wanna highbeam pple, i had to, in that moment. he must've suffered some moments of glare though..

Points 1, 2, 3 and repeat 1--yes, valid frustrations and caused some riders to fall.

I cant stand congested slow traffic on express ways. It wasnt build to be slow.

 

I get agitated when drivers cut into my lane like forcing you to the side.

 

Besides that its kinda cool. I love riding.

 

To ts, fast riders dont stay on the road long. By law or maker.

i absolutely hate lanesplitting. its stressful for me to have to juggle squeezing and looking to see if i am blocking other faster lanesplitters.

 

good thing is i work on non peak period timing, so i dont usually have to lanesplit.

 

but when i have to lanesplit.......abit sian. getting good at it though.

 

whatever it is, don't bring your emotions to the road, its unsafe. especially when riding angry. easier said than done. i know the temptation to speed when feeling stress and i admit i've done it before, but i usually realise the times when i ride angry or rushed, i had alot of near misses.

All those grocery cars carry family ones, uncles on kupchais are driving/riding fast, people on sportbikes riding relax, why ah? I see no reason to go through small roads at 100km/h because there's fkin traffic lights at every end.

Everyday also will meet dumbos on the road one.. Be it drivers or riders.. Doubt I ever rode around without meeting one. I don't get pissed easily though some really do get on my nerves. Can't stand drivers cutting right in front of me esp when I'm at like 90ishkm/h on 1st lane then the moment they lane change, they slow down.. Or worst still, they alrdy so slow still want change lane 1.. I also can't stand some riders SOME ah.. Who knows their bike alrdy giving out so much smoke cus they riding 2strke and dunno what stupid 2t they use still in front of me throttle blow and blow.

 

But othr than that, me getting home safely is the most impt haha

Cars who change lane abruptly when the vehicle in front signals to turn. Cannot slow down a bit or wait for vehicle in front to complete the turn. Nah, they just got to change lane.

I had a very NEAR incident yesterday. At the Bugis MRT car park, near the entrance to ERP at Rochore Road, I was coming out to the main road. As I was coming , I saw a car just at the traffic light, and my bike being heavy front end and as I was about turn, I saw he was coming near me. I think he was driving very fast. As I was trying to straighten my bike to get forward, he got frustrated and rammed his petrol and then tried to get his car as near to my bike to show his anger. He was damn near.

He then sped forward and at the traffic light, he slowwwwwwed down. TRYING TO SCARE. then after the gantry, he still drove very slow and at the field car park he turn right while showing me the finger. I THINK HE IS GAY.

If you are at the Rochore area, becareful of Honda Accord dirty white.

Share some of my bad experiences on road here. Till now these incidents are still vivid in my mind

 

- When lane splitting Lane 1 and 2 of PIE during evening peak hours, one car on Lane 1 suddenly switch on left signal light and move left at almost same time without checking! My right mirror langa his left mirror and i wobbled bit. He was shocked also and quickly stopped his car. I quickly moved off after i recover. The cars at the back like suddenly stopped or slowed down when they saw what happened to me.

 

- One morning when stopping at zebra crossing waiting to turn into Jalan Boon Lay, a mini bus drove from behind me and langa me on the right. My bike rolled some distance and i fell. The bus driver stopped in front of me and helped me recover. He gave me $50 to settle out of court. And since i dun have any serious injury and i already late for work, i took $50 from him. He apparently seems frightened as he scare i may report him to police.

 

- When traveling on Upper Bukit Timah road, a weekend car driver suddenly cut from the left side of me to go in front of me. I horned at him and he raised his right hand to signal sorry to me. At least he knew his mistake...

 

- One late night when returning home on PIE, a crazy male driver drove v closely behind me. Seems like he wan to do a lane split between me and a bus to left of me! I looked back at him and swerved to next lane right of me. He drove faster and i was staring at him to my left. But he pretends never see me and like nothing happens. I even thought of trailing him to confront him. But i felt it's sort of stupid and i continued my journey back home

I also don't like those tipper trucks carrying sands or small rocks.. When they travel at expressways always got stupid bits hitting me. Freaking pain sometimes..

and idiots who don't know how to turn into their lane. for example lane 1 and 2 is for right turn. before the turn is even finished that bugger on lane 1 change to lane 2 without checking

 

i wonder how these idiots dare to change lane or swerve without checking at all man..

as i'm getting on on my age, my riding style also becomes more relax and e feeling is really different. cruising on the expressway and enjoying e scenary, looking at e motorists "rushing to heaven/hell".. i recalled that's how i used to ride; getting frustrated easily, wanting to overtake and speeding.

 

but now, i let other vehicles overtake me. if they signal, i slow down n let them change lane and this made me a happier person. ;D
