Hyper VTEC SPEC2 should fit the story nicely. Good work horse bringing u up and down.

Big and wide seat (high comfort), better fuel consumption since rider can control the VTEC. Plenty of part support, maintenance wise same as CLS2. Except for its road tax and insurance.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Kupchai can go up to Thailand, 2B 2 strokers can go to KL, whether you plan properly and can tahan or not only.

100% agree, in fact any 2b bike can go KL or even tour malaysia...only less speed & comfort...just require more "stamina" from rider lah! :)

TS, actually, just "tahan" a 2b can help you save money faster for your eventual class 2. if you are not interested in class 2 , then go get S4. Go get RVF only when you MUST get this bike out of passion ( forever love ) & intend to keep it for very long. If not, why waste time & money?

Thanks & Best Regards.

hi bro,

i ride RVF before and had just sold it.its a gd fast bike.Maybe I am lucky to get a gd owner who maintain the bike my engine was perfectly gd dont give me problem.ride it for 2 yrs.parts wise u can get it at bufflo rd,but keep your finger cross not to spoil the CDI which coz 500 bucks and part have to order. The bike can clock 180km/h maximum 220km/h if u tune the bike. But the parts and maintainace is expensive.example service the carb can cost 300 bucks.Rvf ride to kl no prob but have to stop often for patrol.reserved at 180km.

For super4 its much easier and cheaper to maintain.

Overall if u wanna cheap super4 is the bike if u don`t mind bout $$ RVF is the bike juz need to maintain only.

cupcai c70 can go from britain to czech republic..

RVF power in mid range, in the range when you play corners, top end lose out to inline 4s. That's what I heard la, S4 people got use to go up north, even to Thailand, got see it recently, any bike that can maintain 180km/h with extra power beyond is good enough. Just bring extra engine oil and spark plugs.

Bros can anywan state the price for maintaining and servicing RVF?

(1) Normal good engine oil and spark plug change how much?

(2) Full tank patrol how much?

(3) New battery how much?

(4) New both rear and front brakes?

(5) New chain?

U guys recommend me to get RVF from forum or shop? My budget is around 5k to 6k. And wat are the things to look out for when buying RVF?

Btw I am 20 years old this year and just pass 2A how much will my insurance be for RVF? I am currently with NTUC INCOME. Or shall i go change to other company that is lesser to pay for third party? Thanks. :)

i thought getting s4? rvf might be over budget for you =/

1. package engine oil $70 (agip or maxima) normal spark plug $18x4 iridium spark plug $25x4

2. shell 98 - 13L 25++

3. no idea around 50++

4. ebc front brake pads $120 + normal back brake pads $30

5. chain around $200 x-ring + normal sprocket

price i aga aga only

depends on your luck to get a good one or bad one from shop.. forum the seller might say this and that but never do.. you never know.. follow your instincts when buying bike. my insurance from ntuc cost 1000+ for 2nd party.. so 3rd party less then 1000 i guess..

it actually comes down to what u like and ur riding style.... both maintainence is the same... just depends if the bike u buy is in good cond or not.. if its bad then RVF more ex...

If good condition bike. rvf worth to try... nvr regretted trying it.. fuel wise - s4 better.. but if u want raw performance.. RVF best choice...

think its harder to find RVF at shops nowdays. got to hunt the forums and all. sure to find plenty. its only a question of whether its of a good pricing and good condition :)

maintenance is about the same. it depends on the condition of the bike you bought. insurance also about the same. fuel consumption s4 is slightly better, but only slightly.

problem is, rvf generally older, so less well maintained. parts are available, but maybe have to wait. s4 parts are easily available as bikeshops will most likely keep many s4 parts.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

My friend ask me go get Honda CBR400 as its within my budget and easy to maintain than RVF...DAMM! haha

you listen and listen, sooner or later, zx4, gsr, bandit, ducati m400 what suggestions also will hear. lol

Hey bros when buying super 4 from shop/forum wat am i suppose to check for? Any super 4 riders mind sharing? I planing to get SPEC 1....

U just nid to check the engine smoothness....u have to feel it for urself or a experience super 4 fren.

when idling..make sure is stable...and ensure radiator fan is working.

Check for leaks etc etc.... thats my 2cents

the rest is up to ur luck...basically every bike check also like tat...

CBR400 is a older bike than RVF.... CBR has a top speed range but RVF is more of acceleration and handling.. FC of cox if say is healthy and stock....CBR is more fuel frenly. Both has radiator fan..so no nid scare overheating.

Both also can go touring....just nid to do some basic service before go to ensure no problem halfway lo. Ensure ur luck is good to have a good bike:)

just my 2cents

radiator fan operation kind of tricky as it usually works via temperature sensor. Only way to kick in is to heat up the engine.... *idle for long period of time.

check coolant hose, sealing of water pump *sign of leakage

check engine chassis for sign of damage cause by skids

verify rear cowl alignment, swing arm, suspension *compression & rebound, electrics, steering cone, brakes etc.

RVF also can ride to KL without any problem, except the riding position more uncomfortable.
