(advantage Boomless, local shop; but shorter range, no radio)

(advantage is radio-for me, but too costly)

Using a Scala Rider G4 Powerset which I tumpang from someone who bought from ebay. Range is good, battery life is superb, sound quality is good.

 

I ever played my MP3 for 14hours straight when I rode to Camerons without a need to charge.

 

I never tried the radio though coz it will tune to the strongest signal and dont have presets for the radio station.

U know, i was thinking of buying a pair of intercom too.

 

So did my search n as always, ebay gave good deals.

 

I found a shark intercom for rider.

It comes with handlebar remote control n the best part is its 1000m range. For its price, its +- us$100 including shipping.

 

For the pillion,

Juz a normal from ebay too. Cost us$45 including shipping

 

So more or less around S$200

 

Affordable if u compair its range, handlebar remote etc. Call play radio too. Pair up to 4 intercom for the shark intercom

Honestly, for a motorcyclist should at least be rain resistant

 

N u have to place the mic at ur mouth area.

Running time is appox 10 - 12hrs...... With both my Iphone's GPS and MP3 running. The beauty of it... is it's size, very small and light weight. The speakers that came with it was of slim type and getting them to fit under my helmet is a breeze..

 

The most important safety aspect is that it has no boom mike... one the best feature is it's hands free answering via IPHONE.. simply by saying "Hello"... it will pick up a incoming call and auto cut off when the call is hang up.

 

Go UTube it... and you'll know what I meant... (+) Spare Speakers and back up service is great with Motorworld.

Are you sure this thing works??? I hardly can hear anything from my MP3 when speed is fast...

The wind blast is too strong..that is why I dare not get one....I am using a AGV FF btw.

Fyi, it does say speed up to 120km/h

 

Have not use one yet but i did have a helmet speaker b4, can still hear on a open face helmet but also on a low speed like below 120km/h maybe.

i'm not sure whether the promo is on. But u can check out motoworld lavender branch if there is any...

 

i bought 1 pair @ $300 there earlier this year. plus the promo is wayyy long overdue.

I can't decide on which of the following 4 BT Headsets to use:

 

1. Shark (shk4riders) : I like the thumb controls on handlebar for ease of use.

2. U Clear: I am attracted by the unique boomless mic ( but poor range intercom)

3. Sena: I like the super dial

4. Nolan: I am using Nolan N43 Helmet.

 

Each has their strong points. Each also has their minor cons.

As for the Volume...at high speed... It greatly depends on the position of the Speakers to your ear... I could hear music up to speed of 160km/hr (+/-)...

 

But please understand that the wind protection and type of bike you are riding on also plays an important part... As you go faster...(Speed Wise).. Engine Vibration, aerodynamics Drag on the helmet (Causing Helmet Noise) increases... these factors also contribute to the volume you are able to "Hear"...

 

I have installed Uclear in both my Half-Face (MJR), Full Face (HJC FG-15) & Modular (Flip-Up / Nolan N90) Helmets... the Audio Feed is best with the Full Face Helmet.

 

The helmet to helmet is hands free... with no buttons to engage unlike the common Walki-talki...
