Currently riding a phantom ta200

FC - around 34-36km/l

Maintenance - For me, i will change spark plug and engine oil every 2000km

It's stable, kinda heavy for a 2B bike in my opinion.

Good for cruising in the expressway.

Regarding the heavy rear, i didnt encounter "skid" personally, it also depend on the effort used to depress the brake. (weather, road condition, etc)

Before changing to Phantom, i owned a honda sp, High FC, need to refill 2t every 2-3wks, lastly, the bike feel light.

Decent acceleration.

Hope the info provided is useful to you =D

riding phantom, upgrading soon.

no such thing as easy to skid for phantom. its all to do with rider input and tyre pressure. the only times i skid on the phantom is either i corner too aggressive and passed over a patch of slippery white markings or when its raining. control your rear brake pressure and you'll be fine.

fuel economy at around 35-42km/l. service also cheap, rarely exceeds 30 bucks. power is there. but anything beyond 110km/h is bonus.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

yup. i too vouch for phantom. not bad FC, good pickup n top speed. cheap maintenance. heavy might be a good thing IMO. helps u to familiarize wif heavy bike. prepare u for cls 2A n cls 2. rear skid is because of the bike's design and rear disc brake very powerful. so you have to learn to control the rear brake. i personally jux use it to cut speed, rarely for hard braking.

A ride a day, keeps the doctor away!

Before making a choice u need to decide if you are looking at upgrading in a year or so. If yes suggest don't get new bike.

16-18bhp part kinda contradicts the Fuel saving and $ saver part.

Sports bikes looks also contradicts as sports parts are usually more expensive.

I will sugguest reviving ur priority.

Chio, blink blink bike with 16-18hp will not be $ saver and have good FC.

Ah pek bike$ saver, good FC with basic normal power 13-14HP. topspeed at 120max

My recommendation will be as follows

YBR125.

CBF150 (not CBR)

TA200 Phantom

They offers very good FC.35-45 range. HP is 13-16 range. pickup is normal. (no pocket rocket) top speed maybe up to 120 max (depending on condition)

The parts mentioned above is consider abundant and cheap.

I didn't recommend Pulsar because seems like (unless it's different now) bajaj parts only bring in by the agent only.

There's no stockist or other parallel parts dealer for bajaj.

Basic perspective for the 3 bikes:

YBR125.

Cheap parts, good fc. Pickup not bad as the bike is light. Depending on ur height. it may be abit small for you.

CBF150.

Part are cheap. FC comparable to YBR. but much heavier. Pickup feels normal like a normal commuter bike. But handling is decent. Very low vibration and quiet too.

TA200.

heard that there's no more new production bike as Thailand have already stop production.

parts are abundant. FC is up to 40km/l depending on condition and state of tune.

Also a 7-8 years old phantom is only under 1K.

So it depends very much on ur priority

AS usual. any shop will know how to service and fix the 3 bikes.

i don't think top speed is extremely important for 2b, let alone singapore roads.

plus they do then to feel light after 100km/h for some light ones

A phantom would suit your needs well but u might want to consider cubs?

some cubs are sporty looking but of course depends on individual

I don't think any other bike listed has a lower insurance cost than the Phantom, I got 1 after passing in June last year.

Not even YBR? Or CG125?

Phantoms are usually older, the older the bike, the lower the insurance (USUALLY) , just walk into motorshop and ask them calculate for you. sorry what is CG125?

Old weak ass bike that doesn't have enough power to get you out of hairy situations. Well at least its cheap.
