Well it's almost finished, couple of small things to do this week and its off for an inspection at the LTA.

it started life as a very tired 1998 Super4, i picked it up cheap before going to be scrapped. with a great deal of help from a buddy down the road, we set to work on it!

Complete strip down

Powedercoated frame

Powdercoated wheels

removed anything that was not needed - no excess weight

Clip on bars

rebuilt forks

chopped front mudguard (fitted after pics)

new braided brake lines

new pads

Trailtech vapour dash

Cafe racer aluminium seat

Seat and tank chromed

Chrome Cafe style mirrors

Stainless steel exhaust (not in these pics - Stock installed for LTA)

All new Stainless steel bolts

re-routing of wiring to under the seat

Ballistic battery under seat

modified rear sets

Modified Exhaust brackets (fitted after pics)

removed air box and fitted pod filters

re-built carbs (still need rejetting after final exhaust installed)

All hoses replaced

new water pump

replaced faulting & burnt out wiring

New Pirelli's

new bushes and bearings

going to head up to LTA this week, wish me luck! :-)

Is the clipon handlebar easy on the turning and hands?

Yes, should be ok, I had to move the bars out a little to clear the tank, haven't ridden any distance yet, so not completely sure...

Yeah exhaust looks crap, this is the stock street legal one, I have stainless headers and a race can but they're not legal. Updates later...

I'll post details on powdercoating and chrome shortly...

wow nice. thats a very unique s4 you got there :cheeky:

anyway, you should share the amount of money you have spent on this bike, it would be great if you could break down the costs. i bet a lot of people will be keen to know how much money was spent on this project of yours.

i hope you can pass your inspection.

what do you plan to do if you have difficulty passing the inspection?

Haha nope, that would just be opening myself up for a world of abuse! I paid what I thought was ok. Some seemed expensive, sometimes what you have in your head and what is delivered is different, therefore justifying or making the money seem expensive. I built it because I wanted to not to make money. When I replaced parts I did it properly with new pieces mostly genuine Honda.

Having said that...

Donor bike $2k

Frame Powdercoat $300

Tank and seat chrome $500

Overall it owes me more than $5k

PM me if you want details,

Cheers
