Hey guys..just check..the BT003rs in sg..is more street use then track lah. Sg supplier do not bring in the race tyres type 3 or 4..guess..i'll go for pirelli..maybe dragon supercorsa SC2 for trackdays and the diablo supercorsa Pro SC2(if got spare cash) if participating in SMSA race...hahahaha....if not just use the dragon..heard compound same but diff year technology...

Yep, now I remember why we never used the recent bridgestones - no DOT race tyres available yet.

The Diablo SC2 is a totally different tyre to the Dragon SC2, even compounds.

i was refering to ppl who r new and the free & easy riding style.. yes street tires cannot be pushed too hard.. but these ppl arent even pushing..

heck.. i even RECOMMEND street tires for begineer trackies.. that way they can experience wat its like to be on the limit of grip.. and improve their riding skills..

I've (had the mistake of) riding on the track with pure street tyres on my 2A bike in the past. While they provide feedback when they slide and thus your point being, however I found those slides to be distracting and those little slides -- when the tyres regain traction -- it just wants to throw the bike out.

I've read somewhere that road versus sporty-oriented/track tyres have different materials and internal build, and one heats up quicker than the other. Perhaps a sporty-oriented tyre in the middle of the performance chart should be the better bet for a half-road-half-track enthusiast. Namely stuff like the Metz M3's, Pilot Power's and ....i can't remember the specific BT-00 something tyres that are sport-oriented.

Maybe these are important factors that one should seriously consider IMO when hitting the tracks, but I'll leave it to the cornering gurus here for sound advice.

Any thoughts guys?

Maybe some pros can list out what tyres are good enough for track?

Ride a supermotard on the tracks and you will learn very fast how to control a sliding bike.. coz they slide very easily.

You tend to learn very fast coz you got not much choice... its either learn to recognise and control the sliding or crash.

In my 4 years of riding and racing supermotards.. I have crashed 14 times already... all lowsides.

looks like many good reviews about the dragon sc2.. what about mileage wise? able to last 10 months? 10,000 km? ok, i know grip and mileage dun come hand-in-hand. just hoping to get reasonable mileage out of it.

easily last 3 track sessions and ard 10-15k km of road use. but dun expect too much grip on the street as its hard to warm it up in day to day riding. :)

10-15k km sounds reasonable enough. on the road as long as can grip like other sports-touring tyres would be good enough. thanks alot!
