3. Use brush to scrub stubborn stains or hard to reach areas. (old toothbrush is gd enough)

4. Either use clean water to wash off the kerosene or wash wif soap. Then use cloth to wipe clean.

** if u hav car jack to jack up ur bike, cleaning the chain & rear wheel will be much easier.

Hi turbo,

When u say wash away the kerosene with soap, what kind of soap u referring to?

The normal dishwashing detergent? Any suggestions? :confused:

Perhaps you could use the 'car wash' water that's left over from washing your bike to clean away the kerosene

Ya most probably i'll do that.

Wonder whether dishwashing detergent will strip the oil from chain?

I gt new method!!!

This morning dun know why i the mood to wash my Chain and Sprocket.. then think of a beta method and cheaper also..

Kerosene 1/2 bottle = $1

1 Sponge = $1 for 5 pcs

1 Kiwi Brush = $0.50 (for kiwi boots type)

Mama Lemon = FREE (Kop from my mum :cheeky: )

1pail of water = $0.20

Time = 30mins

Result = PRICELESS!!!

Step 1: Remove chain guard

Step 2: Pour kerosene on chain and sprocket

Waiting for 30sec...

Step 3: Use the Kiwi brush to brush off the dirt and grease

Step 4: Pour kerosene for the brushed dirt to DRIP off

Repeat step 2 to 4 till whole chain is clean

Step 5: Use the kiwi brush/sponge with mama lemon to wash off the kerosene

Will u guys suggest using WD-40 to wash chain? I tried once b4,its gd.. spray a lot on the chain and just wait for the dirt slowly drip down. very fast clean. Can anti corrosion also.. But will it actually harm the chain somehow? any experts?

Read from the forum long time ago that WD-40 is not very good for cleaning of the chain although it will make it real clean and also prevent rust. Reason behind it is because WD-40 works in the way where by it will cause your chain to be really dry thus also it will be hard to lub it. In a way it will shorten your chain life span. Correct me if i am wrong cause i am just sharing wat i know.

This quite subjective.. Gt ppl sae that it harm chain and sprocket but gt ppl actuaclii lube them with WD40 :confused:
