what happened to ur bike bro?

Engine got knocking sound since day 1... but was told by seller it's nothing serious:dot:

but now it turned out to be quite serious... the crankshaft bearings are so badly wornout that the pistons have extra travel in their stroke. and bcos of this, the pistons are hitting onto the valves and the valves were cutting into the piston crown, oso causing premature wear in many other parts...

total cost of repair was more than $2k...

and lost of use of more than 3 mths... in/out of dealership a few times o_O

U gt install any fuel pak?

think tat will work wonder than PC3.... (I think)

Frankly harleys are quickie bikes....

pickup & mid range not top end....

Dyno to me waste $$$ & time mate....

I done almost all performance upgrade less the carb....

here what i did, maybe U can edit abit since mine is a carb sporty....

SE Stage 1 Air cleaner

SE Performance Coil

SE Ignition Module 6.8k (for carb bikes, FI bikes go for fuel pak; correct me if I'm wrong)

KhromeWerks Race Slip Ons Slash Cut (way quieter than most pipes..lol maybe performance pipes are quieter than those show pipes which are more noisy ??)

My current setup is able to outrun most big twins mayb ...lol

With the enhancements, Braking & suspension is to be upgraded oso for handling & control.... (regardless of what makes & models)

EBC Wavey disc x1

4 pot caliper x1

Ohlins rear shocks

Steering Damper (still flying in ...lol)

BTW $850 for PC3 too ex...

PC5 is around tat range not PC3....

good luck mate...

Not easy to find someone in SG that like to go for more performance....

Well best to have performance & looks lah... haha

Hmm....

I using a EBC wavey disc now...

Don't need adpator as sizing juz nice....

For Jap bike should be ok with adpator but for vibration strong harley not recommend maybe....

My disc lock alarm keep in a leather pouch on my back rest went dead due to over vibration (the internal wiring board all loose)

haha

Yup larger disc do have better holding power...

but since yrs is a double disc, it should be relativly good...

compared to my stock then was juz a single disc with single pot caliper...

Braking suks...lol

So far not yet come across any oversized brake disc, if so I drop u a link on yr pm mate..

Cheers!!!

BTW letting go a pair of Rear Ohlins Springs only (spring weight for rider below 85kg)

Condition like new changing my springs to stiffer ones as I abv 85kg...lol

Black colour Springs....

mayb able to custom fit other makes & models of rear shocks...

Do check with your regular mech for those interested....

Worthwhile investment if can be use...

double disc but single pot leh...

still feel tat its not enough for the power & weight of the sporty, especially at high speed.

its never too much for stopping power :cheeky:

at 1st thought of changing to 4 pot, but think got to change master cyl as well to match... to much trouble :dot:

Ohh ohlins.. gd stuff :thumb:

too bad it wont fit my 1200s shocks...

I think I paid $700+ at racewerks anumber of years ago for PCIII and tune. If all you have is the stage !, can send an email to Fuel Moto in the US that specialises in PC. They will send over a canned map that should take care of 95% of the applications. If it pops on decel or doesnt sound right, then can take it over to them for the dyna tune.

For me, I had a bad decel pop that really annoyed me so wound up doing the full dyno tune. The benefit is that it really dials it in and you will know your hp/tq.

Know of someone letting go his 1 yr old roadking. Btw, any indication on your budget?

i remember reading somewhere on xlforum that the lever will bottom out too soon if the master pump is not changed to suit... b'cos 2x 4 pot will need much more oil to activate... o_O
