Good evening, how you all doing?

Just came back from dealership servicing, reach 1,600 for first service in the morning, still running in but enjoying myself.

Now its about 1,640km, next service will be 4,000km. Aiming for that in less than 2 weeks

This Saturday night I am going to ride with Iron Horse to Muar for makan & clock some mileage

Yes, for safety reason. As a organiser I impose the Iron Horses to have a green vest on.

Last year 07-07-2006 we lost a friend whom were with us during the Muar trip, since then I am very particular about wearing green vest while riding at night for long trip. I also have their particulars like NOK contact number & rider blood group, definately don't wish to use the list but it will come in handy if anything happens.

As for at night along NSH there are some places with no lighting, with the monster speed that we ride, the vest won't help much but at least do help a little as other road user shine on them.

Yet since I get a Harley, I very low profile already, in the past you can see me post a lot of makan outing in Iron Horse thread, now only activate for saturday night makan through sms

Ah~~, the ride is so smooth now.

After doing the first services & had a ride just now, feel so good, the sound is great (both exhaust note & the sewing machine  ). Now start to get more & more use to my bike, able to glide through highway with ease.

Thanks to the refined calibration of the EFI system that is installed few days ago by HD.

The refined calibration will smooth the torque curve application in an manner that minimizes high shock loads to drive train components. :thumb:

For my case, I would refine the changing of gear as follows:

Dyna wide glide 07

1st gear --- 1 to 20km/h

2nd gear --- 21km/h to 40km/h

3rd gear --- 41km/h to 65km/h

4th gear --- 66km/h to 90km/h

5th gear --- 91km/h to 125km/h

6th gear --- 126km/h to monster speed

I still prefer to follow te HD mech advice of higher rev for 4th gear then change to 5th gear. Definately cannot follow the manual of changing 5th gear at 70km/h, for I tried that many times and can hear the engine crying "tak tak gar tak gar tak tak gar gar...." But if rev higher at 4th gear, changing to 5th gear is much smoother, don't wanna have another chance to stress the engine again. And I also never use 6th gear in Singapore, 5th gear now is smooth enough in local highway ride, only in engaging NSH in Malaysia then I will use 6th gear.

That all from me (for tonight), hope if anyone getting a new '07 96 power train will this info useful, will update (or refresh) as I ride more. Good night~

Hahaha! Vibrate and make loud noise...yeah!

I don't know what they did after my first service, it ran smoother too, at least when engine is not too hot. Maybe it's a standard procedure after run in. Or only Ah Fai's bike can have special treatment?

How fast do y'll actually travel in the dark of the NSH?

If visibility is low, reduce speed, no?

No problem pal, wearing green vest is just a recommendation for a long distance night riding, no hard issue on that for HD riders

Sometimes there are also sport cars zooming around NSH on Saturday night, especially at exit 312C, just be-careful~

Don't worry about that EFI refinement... In the USA, the refinement program already come to surface since last year (around November if I can remember), and that only applies to 2007 twin cam 96 powertrain which was built in late 2006, sportster so far no news yet :thumb:

I am happy with the refinement program, and I can feel our local HD dealership the good service they provide, and my engine is running smoother.
