anyone can help me pls?

I m riding a Vtec 3 can i know if my bike requires one spark plug or a set for 4 spark plug?

because i hav taken over the bike for almost 9k , and have not chg a single time for the spark plug. PLS HELP ..

cuz i have trouble startin the bike at times too.

There are a total of 4 spark plugs. And it depends whether you travel far or not. As for me, I travel less than 10km everyday so I change my plugs every 10,000km.

all s4 need set of 4 plugs...but wat u mention above i think mayb the immo(HISS) indicator haven goes off then cant start?

hey guys, my bike recently lost of power and is hard to throttle nowadays. i guess is the sparkplug wear off already as the last time i changed was in march. however, i going ns on monday. not sure should i change it before i go ns or next month then get it change. will anything happen to my bike if i don't change it asap?

About spark plugs.. if let say iridium 2 pcs use cr9.. 2pcs use cr8 (also known as hot plug..).. any side effect or unbalance..? or 3 pcs cr9, 1 pc cr8.?. Went to 1 of bike shop, say 'can' only coz they don haf 4 plugs of the same no.. experts..?

Does anyone know the code for NGK platinum plugs?

I've read the past few pages and i see someone posting that the upgrade of normal (CR8EH-9) would be platinum (CR8EHVX-9).

From my experience, platinum plugs (aka G-power plugs) always end with the alphabets "GP" behind.

Meaning to say, i would think Platinum plugs will look something like this - "CR8EHGP-9".

I'm not too sure what the "VX" in CR8EHVX-9 stand for.

Can those who are using platinum plugs confirm this?

 

I'm personally not too into iridium plugs as:

1) Iridium too ex

2) I dun need such a high end plug

 

What i want is something which performs slightly better than the stock NGK plugs.

Therefore, Platinum will suit my requirements better.

The thing is i'm not too sure NGK does have platinum plugs for super four, reason being that the "EH" in our stock plug code "CR8EH-9" actually stands for half thread.

Meaning to say, the threads are shorter than conventional plugs.

 

Currently, i have surveyed a few places, seems like stock plugs (CR8EH-9) is selling at $10.

I am still looking for places who have the platinum plugs.

If anyone has places to recommend, kindly pm me.

Use denso iridium. But actually normal plugs are the same just lower lifespan

got backfire when u throttle hard ?

 

i got once a plug died , totally lost of power + kept having back fire ~

today, my bike canot even to start, i turn on the ignition, dun even have lights on the lcd screen of the speedometer. so i push start...at gear 2... suddenly i chiong alr with my bike , i release my clutch and my bike came to life...to my horror my blue flame backfired so strong that i got a shock and almost fall with the bike. Is this smth wrong with my spark plug? or is it battery?

People normally care about optimum spark plug but neglect the spark plug wire.

Some misfiring actually doesn't require expensive plug change or carburetor tuning.

Just check the spark plug wire once a few years (after-market better and cheaper).

 

Recently after heavy rain my bike has difficulty to start, and when it cough to start it back fire like my previous phantom.

When I open throttle to max, there is uneven acceleration and intermittent power lost.

As usual I go to the spark plug first.

While examining the spark plug cap and wire, I notice that the portion of wire which hide inside the cap is wet.

I trim off the wire a bit and clean the cap, put them back tight and black tape it, the right 2 cylinders can start.

But then the left side 2 cylinders are not running, change to new plug also cannot help, never happen before.

I suspect because after I pull out the wire and plug it back, it is not electrically connected anymore as I cannot see the metal lead in the wires.

Same thing, trim a bit until the metal lead exposed, then plug them back to the cap tight.

Wala, the bike starts again, running smooth and no more backfiring.

Actually spark plugs can use for how long ah? I haven't changed mine in ages. Any plug better than iridium? How much? Anyone changed to the ngk cables before? How much and got any significant changes?

iridium plugs are the best in the market currently, can last till 20k km.

Cost around $80 including installation

The spark plug on my most left always dirty with black oil and because of that, my bike can't start everyday. Resulting with a push-start. Anyone know the reason?

Just DIY myself. NGK Iridium is good value for money. Improved fuel consumption compared to stock Denso plugs.
