The fact remains that LAB mechanics will never make it. Look, if you know the man (LAB that is) , he has been shifting his workshop here and there, all over the place., to cut cost maybe.. The man is not committed to provide skilled servicing ...period. :D

You're right, LAB mechanics can never make it. I was there about 2 months back to change my rear suspensions.

The skinny guy changed it but it was too soft, so I asked him to click it up twice. he clicked twice on the left and once on the right, I was wondering what the f***. when I asked him to click it once more he insisted that it was ok. he finally checked and clicked it again.

Sorry, but my bike is like my girlfriend, been riding too long to be 'smoked' by some low grade, untrained, under achieved, never want to upgrade himself kind of sorry excuse for a mechanic.

as for the shifting of the premises is that he is not allowed to do any form of repairs at that area but I think the one at Kallang should stay for a while.

true btu i think the attitude is at least better than H*L

btu there's 1 time i go to H*L to just to change my engine oil.. they never wait 4 my bike to cool down then change....

this will spoilt the inner thread of the engine... further more he insulted mi coz i ask him how much is the motul300... cos i change to r4.... bloody ass... mi just ask 4 the price then say till like i got no money like dat...

then i got totally pissed off n ride off...

Anyway, I would only go to LAB if I had purchased some accesories and needed some installation. Any servicing would be done by Ah Koon for now

 Need to service my bike. Can you tell me where Ah Koon is?

Also, is there a workshop that sells a good range of accessories(foot rest, throttle grips, signal lights) and can install it on the spot.

Thank you.

Ah Koon is just after CMPB along Depot Rd. LAB is suppsed to be the cheapest but if you can stand the bad attitude of the 'Aunty' beside LAB, their price is quite competitive and installation time is a fraction of the time you have to wait at LAB.

anybody got comments abt asphoon?

I got both my bikes there (KIPS & X9) and before there's a Ah Huat there very good to talk cok with and also tell u little things bout ur bike and not too waste money to do this do that...but too bad he left oreadi. Anyway i was at Bukit Merah Branch & Serangoo branch and they both have gd sales service. When i 1st got my KIPS 2 years back the batt water leak onto my swing arm and cause corrosion. They immediately told me to leave it there and got it sprayed for me free within an afternoon so after sales service is not bad. And they also allow you to keep ur excess engine oil there so when u come back for future servicing you can pour the remainder into it. after like 4 servicing its kinda of like u get one free. I know most motordiam always never return the excess to you anyway unless u ask for it.

There's another shop i would recommend for servicing is K&T(aka Clifford) at Ubi(which lane i can't remember but its the lane behind the Johnson sticker cutting place) He's very good for tuning and servicing 4-stroke bikes as he has the equipment and knowledge to do it. And also he is very friendly as i noticed most of his customers have become gd frens with him. He even services TP bikes so i guess u can say his skills are quite good. His number is 67455463, juz look for Clifford. I've been there many times and all i can say is he always do what is neccessary. If he feels its a waste of money he will advice you not to waste ur money.

Service : 9

Knowledge : 9

Price : 7.5 (at least i know he doesn't ovecharge)

Overall : 9.5(never left there feeling dissapointed!)

So guys pop down if u can!

*all comments are based on individual experience. Some ppl may experience different feelings or service. Do not be alarm. Its nothing to worry about :D

Their after sale service is not too bad. U can look for Jonathan at the serangoon branch or Lois at Bukit Merah Branch. It doesn't matter which branch u buy as long as its from ASPhoon...personally i like going down to the bukit merah branch and talking cok to the lady recep lady there called Ms Kuan! She's very friendly so know her quite well personally...the 2 mechanics there dun seem to talk much though...

Very good shop siah. Was recommended to me by a friend. Went there, and they start to wash carb..etc. Even check things for me which I never ask them to check. Never anyhow ask me to change things. Parts which are still working, they tell me directly. Prices are more or less standard though, not cheaper or more expensive than other places. Workmanship only charge me $10. After finish servicing, tuned my bike and now it can really fly. Very happy with the service and attitude of the mechanic. Recommended.

Shop Name: Tai Seng Kooi

Address: Johor Malaysia( opposite Plaza Pelangi)

What service/product did you purchase?

wash/ tune carbs + standard servicing

Level of knowledge: 10

Level of value for money: 10(very cheap compared to S'pore)

Me and my bike buddies service at this shop. Ah meng is a real honest fellow. He will tell you what to bring( because malaysia's prices for class 2 bike parts expensive, and most things like k&n also don't have) before he service your bike. He always recommends FJT for genuine honda parts.

He will tell you whether certain parts are good or lousy, how to mod the bike if you want, teach you how to tune your bike( carb air and suspension) according to normal road use, touring, or track day. He is already track proven(as a mechanic and R6 rider).

The best thing is that after the mechanic finish, the boss, either tai seng kooi himself or his twin brother, both legends in the malaysia and asian circuit (supersport series and superbike series respectively) will test your bike and do the final touches.(for info, the bosses were the undisputed track kings during their time.)

But, to be noted that my frens ride super4(all fully satisfied customers) while I ride an F3, which is basically the same bike that the boss uses for track. Other bikes I don't know la...

Wanted to install the stebel horns, went down fix it...

Give a go ahead to fix the horn, went in to the shop to chat with chaicka who was quite friendly. After quite a while, saw tat the installer(another guy) was still trying to remove my bike's faring. Went over to take a look.

FOUND OUT tat "he" due to his inexperience, fail to unscrew my screw... AND spolit the trend of the ( + ) screw.

Afraid tat "he" will do further damage to my bike... I took over the job, screw back all others screw.

Waited for him to apologise about it, but didn't. Hai~!

End up i juz bought the horn, and this time i install it myself
