So u r gonna suck it in, and pay the bloody coe? Poor people always at losing end.

other solutions would be to buy second hand bike or new bike. and either way, the bike prices are already very high. zzz.

"still able to sell" is not accurate.

"got ppl want to buy at that price" is more accurate.

you can price your bike based on current COE, but if buyers dont want to buy at your price then too bad, you wont be able to sell.

if you go shop its clear cut they give you a quote and thats your price.

apart from the shop's direct quote, nobody here will be able to give you some magic formula that can give you a price that your bike will be able to sell. selling in the secondhand market is you put a price and see who interested. and nobody can tell you for certain what price ppl willing to buy.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

Many people depend on loan and can't afford to bid n pay the COE themselves. I just hope the govt applies the same loan restriction on bikes that they do on cars. That will make many kids not able to afford bikes though...

Many things bought in SG are on loans. Apartment flats, cars and even higher education to name a few. Its what the gahmen wants. That is for the citizens to always be in debt. No matter how high your salary is you will still need to take up loans to get a place to stay and start a family. No wonder our neighbours across the border kept saying we are rich. Rich in debts that is. We are to pay a lot for our vehicle that we so called 'own' which we have to pay for again to use it after a period of time. In SG we do not really own these things. More like just renting it and we are made to pay alot for the 'rent' just to have a feeling of so called 'owning' something. Sad really but then again seems like we have accepted.

I have a weekend car. I regret buying it but am glad the coe is dying soon. Will not renew the coe and will not buy another one. THEY decided to increase the parking monthly fee from $60 to $70. sheesh. crazy. i dont see parking attendant going around checking for coupon anymore. the gantry machines are handled by 3rd party, so why increase??

Bcos they want to increase the salary of the parking attendant/ engineers/ etc? Sometimes when we talk about increase the pay of our fellow workers, that increase has to come from somewhere.

Even the parking attendants are handled by 3rd party. The usual outsourcing to cut costs.

That is a fallacy. Just like how the ERP was supposed to reduce traffic jams. But we all know how much truth is in there.
