Hie guys, as told in some other thread, i rethreaded my spark plugs. Since then, i have had 2 occasions my bike died on me during heavy rain. Im guessing that water seeped in. I learnt how to feel when my sparks are wet. The problem is that this causes me to lose my confidence riding my bike in the rain. is there a way to make the area waterproof?

Did u get the rubber thing that covers your spark plug replaced?

I have the best signature.

Hello to all bros here,

This is my first post in this forum.

My little brother recently migrated to Aus. He gave me his not-so-well-taken-care-of / 5-yr-old TA200. This is the first bike of my life as I have been driving car for the past 10 years (got my 2B license long time ago though). The problem is I really have no clue whatsoever on how to take care of motorbike. :(

I've tried the bike yesterday and found out that the engine doesn't really run smoothly, the break doesn't function properly, and the tyres are a bit stiff. Moreover, some parts of the engine got rusted. I guess major overhaul is inevitable. I don't wanna sell away this bike as I like the look of it and it might come in handy when I wanna go dabao food from the nearby kopitiam.

I'm just wondering if any bros here happen to know any reliable bike workshop in the west area that can recondition my bike to a tip-top condition (both engine & paintwork)? $$$ is not a problem for me as long as I got what I pay for & the bike is in a safe-to-ride condition.

Many Thanks for reading. :goodluck:

My Diak Diak sound solved ald...

this afternoon i sent for service, they take out my front brake pulm and checked, then put some "butter" to make it smoother and diak diak sound no more.. then they also check my disc brake and said that my brake a bit wrapped... so make my brake pump shaky when wheel moving, this may reduce your brake pad lifetime (KNS just changed!!) and very rusty, as my posted before i said that my front disc brake rusty after changed, they said raining season if long time never use will become like that but not rusty like now condition, i m using it everyday and this brake just changed somemore really Gao Wek the rusty, they said this may not be original one, i dont want to go back the motor shop and complaint anymore (motor shop near to the Planet), i will straight away to planet and ask for assist.

This is true? disc brake also have low quality??

From what I've heard and read, shops in the west generally do not have a very good reputation. I suppose ah koon at redhill would be your best bet. Address can be found here.

There will always be chiong parts available and sad to say, some bike shops do use them. So yes, there are low quality disc brakes around.

Unfortunatley true with a lot of aftermarket products...always use the real thing ..if from honda japan better than thai one on most occassions.

My phantom was left unattended at open air parking slot for 8 days (Travel).

when I come back and try my phantom problems arrive . Engine able to start but speed limit cannot more than 50 , When i try to rev more then the speed keep dropping sooner engine die off .

I seek help from motor shop , they told me found water in the carb and Air filter was wet that's why engine cannot rev more than 50 .

Just wonder water can be so easily get into carb or air filter ? Anyone got this experience or just my phantom got some hitchup which vulnerable to rain :giddy: ..

i suggest you check your fuel cap...it happens worn gasket can lead to this..

how to check??? dont know how...

one time bike dropped and petrol flow out through the cap...u may try this to confirm... so if petrol can flow out..water can get in..

for air filter..it is not supprising to see the air box sweating..this need to be clean regularly

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

You may bring your bike to Planet Motors at ubi to get all your internal problems fixed and wear and tear parts changed. Ah chong can test ride your bike and identify all the problem areas. If you dun feel safe riding there you may call Planet up and arrange for a tow to their workshop. If you really want the best job done den gotta go to the right place which unfortunately is not in the west.

For the exterior touchups you may bring your bike to Team Shinez's new shop at bukit merah.

Hope you'll be able to have a great ride.

Erm... clean carb nvr include tuning one meh?

sometimes not everything is as a package, if its not included just ask the friendly mechanic or ah chong himself to do it for you. They'll do it with a smile and a joke to go along :]

Hi PKs,

My front foot pegs are wearing out.

- Are the rear foot pegs fixable to the front?

- Can anyone advise the price of the Eagle foot rest?

- And advise how to fix it myself (and the tools) required?

Thanks!!

My bike also has a diak diak sound. not sure if its the same, but mine is coming from my cables. they are made of plastic/rubber? and when they move they sort of bend and fold, which makes the sound. again, not sure if your 'diak' is same as my 'diak'.

could be the chain thats too tight.. sometimes it makes that sound too.

weird .. anyway is it ok for once in while the engine die off ( After clean carb ) ? Just wonder does it will spoil the engine life ? ... :sian:

when was the last time u check for water in fuel?? this water may be accumulated over a long period....

recommend to run bike once a while with petrolcock turned to reserve,,this is to ensure all sort of sediments ..including rust dust, water, gunk or whatever..

being burnt away in your engine ..in small qty the engine no problems,,in larger qty as when u lay off for a while all those nasty stuff tend to settle ...

engine dies maybe you need to tune it.....one of the main reason is that leakages of air went into engine...this makes the fuel mix very lean,,it happens only when engine is hot and you stop an idle at traffic junction (eg.)..check and tighten all joints in carburetar as well all hoses after it..

engines dies once in a while ok lah..this indicates that something is not right only, maybe problem not that critical/or a temporary nature IMHO

Hi All,

Recently i discovered on my TA200 front wheel's rim, there is a metal piece, now it's dangling, looks like gonna drop off soon.. kinda of worried. It's not the pump air hole, the other metal piece, later i will upload some pics of it.

Anyone know what is it used for?

Its probably the balancing weight for the wheel.

If it bothers you a lot, get your wheel rebalanced, although I doubt you'll be able to feel the difference.

If it was me though, I wouldn't bother about it till the next tyre change Too much effort for too little benefit.
