complain...complain... poll..poll...

the other day there was a poll on making lanes on roads for ladys.. now this..

lol... how about another poll for the TP to either

1) Pull out a gun and point directly at u when they stop you, like in USA

2) Wear a courtesy badge and have a complain number written on it in case they forgot to greet you good morning, and smile.

Just wondering, there are TPs with white uniforms but there are also police with blue uniforms with exact same bikes. They also Tp?? or they are the escort riders for large vehicles?

U do know that if you were caught w/o the P plate for the 3rd time, you can kiss your licence goodbye??????

Of you figure that your licence is worth throwing away?

There was a particular incident where me and 2 frens were travelling on the interstate highway one evening, i was fallin asleep in the back due to a satisfied stomach when i awoke to some gentle bumps as the car pulled over into the side gravel and bright lights shining from the back of our car.

Apparently, my fren had been pulled over by the cops for speeding.

My opinion is tat the Teeps go abt doing their enforcement by targetting the easiet offences for which they can produce the evidence n explain their annual achievements n performance.

If I so much as say tat most of their enforcement is targetted at nabbing speedsters I'm shure to get a chorus of yeses n prolly some noise from somewhere abt me prolly being sore abt getting nabbed.

For the record, I break the speed limit but I've not been caught, yet. N before I do get caught I'd better make an attempt to at least hit the sound barrier. So the next time u hear the roar of thunder n the ground beneath u shake its prolly not another Sumatran quake but my lil RXZ launching at mach speeds.

Back to my musing. As I was saying, the Teeps seem to focus a lot of their enforcement on speeding related offences. U want evidence? They publicise the purchase of new speed detection devices, they upgrade their machines n publicise tat they need 'em ot meet their operational needs. Then u have them on bridges n near bushes filiming like they're the next Eric Khoo. I'm shure they're there to nab speedsters n not waiting for the mangoes to drop. But perhaps there cld be a chance tat they;r doubling as the weathermen with all their strange contraptions. I hope they dun stick them where the sun don't shine!

N i digress again! All I am saying in my lor sor way is tat its easy to catch speedsters wid all dis gizmos. But does tat really deal with the problem of horible driving habits of the Singaporean motorist? As much chance as yer regular Prata mike replacing the current mike in office!

Whats needed is to nab people who hog lanes incessantly, tailgate dangerously, don;t signal or check their mirrors or blind spots. Its far harder to detect n prosecute such offences cos they're pretty much over in a split second unless of cos some biker happens to fall victim to these. But then again it cld be a case of a biker skidding. Biker being reckless.

If the Teeps are waiitng at the side of the road or rushing off to an accident or back to base its unlikely these transgressions will be detected. Maybe the Teeps have some special underwear up their tights n a cape tat might allow them to jump off bridges n fly after ppl who don't signal so perhaps they're up there on bridges cos they just need a good vantage point. Lemme know if u see some dude wid tights n flashy underwear. He cld be a Teep or a flying flasher.

If u;re still reading up to this point I hope u have been able to follow my flights of fancy from bad enforcement to whats needed n underwear. So to recap I have suggested tat the Teeps do a lot more to go after the offences I;ve mentioned. Or perhpas others.

How can they do this? Simple! Put the word out on the street tat they've acquired some Waves, Fazers n S4s for undercover policing n their specific duty will be to film motorists who do not signal when changing lanes, hog lanes and fail to stop at stop lines etc.

After some bitching to the ST Forum abt underhand means tat smell worst then smelly undies the kiasi Singaporen motorist will look out for bikes every minute they;re on the road!

Anyone up for desinging n equipping bikers wid paper cameras? Throw in a flash if possible!

Disclaimer: This commentary is borne out of a whole lot of frustration wid the bloody morons I share the road with. If u feel offended by the language, tone or message I do not apologise.

Someday, home will be where my front wheel points.

Wah like i ride no helmet like that.

Few months ago i got put p plate on my wave. Coz i tink the bike is small den the brake light is very light so i put up a used plate frm my frenz. Den one day tp stopped me near ubi. He asked me where is my P plate infront? In a loud voice(Coz i onli put it at the rear) Den he very loud asked me again. WHERE IS UR P PLATE INFRONT? Coz the road side is very busy traffic and noisy. So i didnt hear his first word. After tat he ask for my driving licence, i/c and insurance. First he check my i/c wif the insurance den the face lik gng to give me a sumon liao, So i act like normal waiting to see wat will he do. Den he check my driving licence and see the front of my driving licence to check it me anot. Last he turn behind the driving licence den the face change. After tat he didnt say anything and keep his mouth shut. Den he walk anot ard and see my bike whether got any fault for him to looks out. lucky my bike is stock loh! In the end he cant found and thing to sumon me. Last word he say i na u take ur i/c, driving licence and insurance back. den he go back to his bike and move off. I and my gf laught like going to fall. Coz The face change when he saw my driving licence den he left wif a word 'na' .... I tink he damn pai sai at tat time. so he faster move off liao....

Actually i think Traffic Operations here, no matter how much i hear of them are Quite Lax. I haven't got caught here yet (touch wood) except going past the speed camera thrice in one week at 120 long time ago (yah i know that was really stupid) Somemore got Speed Camera Sign Somemore...

But anyway, i really think its not easy to get caught speeding or some other things here... Just that penalties when caught may be unbearable

the tp shouted at me after issuing me the summon lah. i bought a big p plate the very next day. now being riding for 2yrs already saving money for a class 2A bike then wah kena summon again for careless riding last week. lucky i havent take up 2A yet. or else i would left with 6 points. this TP very very nice. i have difficulty talking to him cos the way he do his job like a customer service officer. he point out for my mistakes and so he have to summon me. i accept (of course) his summon and smile and said i'am sorry and i dont do it again. i dont get really fed up with him cos it's my fault for squeezing in between a cement mixer and a bus when both vehicle was coming to a stop at a junction and when i reach at the front of the que the light turn green so i corner right and there he was behing me.

wow, it is so interesting this thread from the beginning. It just makes me guilty not to join in to give some comments. All you guys have mentioned it some correctly and some wrongly. This is due to the fact that they are basically doing their jobs like any civil servant will do.

Some unlucky ones then will face so called rude or unexcepted behaviour from the Traffic Police or so called and i m just sorry to hear about this. While some, met with an extremely polite Traffic Police.

The morale of the this story is that you have the right to defend yourself IF you are really sure that you have not done anything wrong either on the road rules or even on your bike. But if you think you deserve what you should get, no point defending yourself. This is because you would just find youself in more trouble. Just say Yes Sir Yes Sir...hehehhe..as simple as that.

But eh, another thing to take note is that all civil servant have to provide a service quality( good service provider, polite) If you are not satisfied, feel free to lodge a complain BUT with vital and acceptable informations and reasons for the incident.

I believe that it is not a prefect world! Just wish the best of luck before you move off to the main rode. Just ride safely and no point racing in Singapore. Write down your innovative views such as building a race track in Singapore so that it can help tourist attraction like Formulae 1 or Moto Gp in Singapore. I am really sure with that, everything will be fine! i hope so.

All the best for everyone, I am not a trouble maker. But i just love to ride and drive.Peace all
