anyway, u meant top service rght?? not full service...full i guess u down eng ah?? hehehehe.....

 

changed plugs, K&N air filter, oil filter, oil, coolant (from the broken radiator)...plus the radiator, plus the top service, u spend 1k plus???? or 500plus???? 500plus will be god damn cheap...i i guess its 1000plus.

 

niway bro, mind sharing what u did for yr top service alone, dat u spend 500plus??? coz mine i spend $556.

 

breakdowns:-

 

1. $140 for labour charges(dis includes the top service charge, as in doing the valve clearance lah etc...excluding thye parts change)

 

Parts changed as follows :-

1)cam chain x01 $68

2)cam cover gasket x01 $42

3)tensioner assembly x01 $75

4)cam cover washers x04 $20

5)spark plug denso iridium x04 $88

6)coolant flush n replace $15

7)new tappet shims x12 $108

 

the mechanic also help me to modify my eng breather, make an extra hose out, for better breathing.

 

So any guys out there can share if u guys have done yr top service also.

radiator mesh, u can diy. there is a shop behind ahboy coffeeshop,blk 30 kelantan lane, selling all these mesh in different types and any size. cant remember the price but it's quite cheap per metre. for $50, u can do quite a number of radiator mesh.

guys can i ask whether your pillion feels hot when sitting on cbr600, since its under seat exhaust?

Hi guys,i follow ur advice,i top up my fuel to the brim and ride without excessive dragging of gear.I hit reserve at around 200km.Went to pump petrol and only manage to pump 13 litre of petrol.So that is about 15km/litre is it ok,or bad.Wat can i do to check.

Hot? No lah.

Actually, my wife prefers under seat exhaust. No need to look out for the exhaust pipe while getting off the bike.

N also u mention valve clearance.... U mean they did a valve clearance for u?? Just did not change anythin??

hahaha...i'm not dat good in explainning. valve clearance is one of the must do thingy when u do a TOP SERVICING. dat includes things like checking the cam chain, tensioner, shims, gaskets...etc....and depending on the parts' wear n tear, u will need to change some of the parts like i've mention before. maybe can use back, but if got money, jus change the parts that are crucial lah....its worth it to me. to mmy knowledge, shims need to be replaced when u do valve clearance. these r very small pieces of metal....not sure wat material, it jus look like smal smal round metal pcs....hahahahah....when u do yrs...feel free to ask the mechanic wat he will do lah...jus ask anything u want....helps to improve yr knowledge.

huh??? hit reserve, but u only manage to top up 13l???? our tank is 18l jus in case u not aware. means yr reserve tank got 5l??? dats a bit too much rite guys??? i tot our reserve arnd 3.5l??? i dunno....not too sure. BUT...200km?? sumthing wrong with yr bike....i jus came back from melaka......from 2nd link peteronas.....straight to BANDAR MELAKA.....with pillion.....speed average 150km/hr......petrol nvr hit reserve. still got 1full bar!!!!! distance is about 210km.

got whack more den 200km/hr also......but average speed i shall put as around 150km/hr lah. i using full system, pc and race air filter.

 

bro......if its true....u might need to check yr bike man....

ur service definately more comprehensive than mine bro. mine only pretty basic. oil change, oil filter change, changed to a k&n air filter, coolant change, plug changed, brake fluid changed. btw, may i know who taught you to change items 1, 2, 3 and 4 in ur list? becoz i dun see many ppl doing that.

 

my bike's milage still quite low. only 12k so i dun think need to go to the extent of valve clearance. and i spent 537 for the entire service. plus 480 la if you count the new radiator.

 

wed go track? hmm...i have a flight at night. i'll see how la bro, what time u going?

hmmm..i hav another guy also saying he did a top service but nvr do valve clearance. y eh?? i mean, when u do top service means removing the top area of yr eng which includes the cam chain, tensioner...etc. So i guess u nvr did wat i did. i guess u jus did a normal servicing which is jus oil change, oil filter change, changed to a k&n air filter, coolant change, plug changed, brake fluid changed.....which doesnt require u to remove top part of yr eng, and so dat is not call top service to me.....:cheeky: (but i think for yr case $537 is a bit ex)

 

top servicing is checking the cam chain, tensioner, valve clearance...etc...which is the basic things to do for a so called top servicing. my bike is near 19k(must remember, 19K mostly on high revs coz i nvr ride my bike unless track or high speed touring :cheeky: ) on the mileage, n i need to do a top service oredi coz my tensioner/timing chain has started to sound.

 

anyway, wed i am going for the 10.30am track session. maybe play 2hrs. hope u can join. i be going alone. but there will be other forumers. as what i hav read. a few are going.

just curious, how is it attached to ur bike?

So far.... No complain of backside being hot... But sometimes when during jam or peak period, riding slow speed, sometimes will complain legs feel hot when wearing shorts....

Bro, is urs the 07 or 08 CBR600?? Coz 07 onwards, our tank is like 15litres + 3litres reserved... So total is 18litres...

 

U should be able to pump at least 14litres of petrol when u hit reserve... Sometimes, the reserve start blinkin when u brake and stop at traffic lights.... Den after sometime it will stop blinkin.... To noe whether issit reserve or not is to put ur bike straight upright and hld for about 1min.... N when the fuel bar blink, den confirm reserve, if not, than its not reserve...

 

Pls check again.... Before reserve should be able to hit at least 250km....

Okie thx bro for all the info.... May i ask again, at which shop u do ur top servicing?? Most prob i'll do it when i hit 24000km.... Heh.... Me no speeding.... Oni normal rising....

Yupz, by cable tie, some use short wires and tie it....

stock shud be 525. think 520 is more for pickup, & 530 more for distance, smthg lidat..
