my parent dun allow me to learn riding, but i pass and got my license

then they dun allow me to ride, but my father bought a bike for me

so...

I also something like your situation. I want to get my bike licence, parents said cannot. Too dangerous so better to get car licence. Die, die want to ride bike so take practical lessons on the sly. TP test day, kena caught red-handed sneaking out of the house with my white, garbage worker gloves, so admitted to taking bike lessons. After test and came home, mum asked how did the test go. I told her passed liao and she asked whether need to borrow money to buy bike or not... :faint:

Mine did not offer to buy bike for me. Offered to lend me money to buy bike. I guess my parents must be thinking, "Cannot beat them, join them"... :cheeky:

My dad was a biker in his younger days, therefore wasn't hard to persuade him...

However, I had a real tough time handling my mum, got to be patient and I think nagging works for my case. Everyday complain bout reaching home past dinner time, take public transport always overslept and missing bus stops...:cheeky:

Eventually they agreed on me riding for the sole purpose of transport. Got a ta200 (dad's recommendation). Survived thr my poly days and sold it off b4 heading for NS. Was not long b4 temptation took over the better of me, changed to a CBR400 without their knowledge. Subsequently upgraded to a R1 on the sly after 6 mths?

U bet, I was caught red handed by dad. Kenna screwed and drilled for umpteen weeks b4 I gained their trust on riding and keeping my R1. Still I sold the R1 off for a DRZ400. Was washing the Zee and mum happen to pop by. She was not aware of this new bike, but was darn glee I'm not longer riding that "monster"

"choy choy" *touch wood*, not to curse u

but i got a fren killed in an accident 10years+ ago... and thats the only time his parent know he is riding motorbike..

I thought there's a similar thread around here...?

But anyway answering this thread. My parents initially a little reluctant about it. Asked me to learn car instead. Just told them learn already also no car and stuff.

After I enrolled and they gave me their full support since then. Luckily I didn't have to keep it from them or even didnt have a hard time persuading them =D

My dad has this policy that EVERYONE in the family should have both car & bike license. He feels that its part of growing up and being independent.

He paid for both my brother & my bike + car license. My sis learn bike halfway, then decided she's not into bikes, so she only got her car license.

:btw: all of us were brought to register for our driving lessons once we reached the legal age..

Ganbatte to my papa! :cheer:

lol i managed to persuade my pops I was going to take 2b back then, and that I'll not ride the m.bike like my GT stunt bike *cross fingers*,just taking it as transport to sch and fro(cuz i seriously don't like waiting for public transport) and also will take class 3 asap and help drive my family around during occasions like CNY so mum can "sat ki"(feel good look good)..parents told me don't skimp on meals and pay for bike lessons then offer me money..

while taking 2b went to bike shop, paid for rxz myself fully but under dad's name cuz he passed like 30+ years ago? then dad and mum quarelled about rxz 2t got white smoke then too fast, small and dangerous for me :( changed the insurance and everything to phantom..

dad and mum decided phantom "safer" for me,more comfy etc.. -_-

its all part of their plan to sit on my bike and feel comfortable when using it..so till now still riding the bike they chose..

well ups for those papa and mama who support their children, and also to those who don't and protect their babies :p

why those parents who ride, supports thier child in riding..

whereas mine is a totally different response altogether..
