After riding a peh peh bike for so many years the screaming phoenix sounds so proper!

I have a burbling exhaust. Like WRX :)

i believe you are referring to back fire... very common on TA200.

i also riding peh peh bike leh, it's also a phantom. TA150 aka phantom 150.

on my TA150, no such thing as screaming pheonix when i hit 110kmh, it will only start screaming after hitting around 130kmh.

Class 2B - 26/03/2009

Class 2A - 01/06/2010

Class 3 - 10/07/2009

Hehe I'm okay with the TA150 sound, it's more tofu smooth cat purr than PEK PEK PEK from RXZ.

Backfiring has now reduced drastically after days of continuous hard run-in. Infact I'm surprised to note pickup has improved a lot and sounds much smoother. The backfiring disappeared almost completely today, even under heavy engine braking. It sounds like a WW2 plane now.

May need to inspect air filter as I can hear vacuum cleaner sound when at max torque rpm range... or with a little imagination... supercharger sound effect!

Oh and @ loud TA200 discussion. No need to modify anything, just ride in KPE, drive in 6th gear low RPM and floor it. I think some cars like to follow behind me cos they like the sound, like GPMG :p

@ Handlebars inquiry - May want to ask PureIce ; he has the wide bars.

Be warned it may affect squeezing performance. Not for everyone. But super good looking and comfy. The compound-bow shape looks impressive.

How about handle bars... where can get goo selection?

Yo bro, there are many type of handle bars in the market and you can try LAB or Ah Koon. My advise is to look around 1st before you make any decision. Maybe you can join in one of the outings/washing session to check out wad others have to help you make your decision. Hope this helps, cheers!

I've changed air filter, chain, roller last 3 months. erm regularly EO and Spark plug change. hmmm. any more info?

Maybe have an overall check by the mototiam. But I think just normal EO change and spark plug only. Maybe our seniors can confirm?

When I have time I can do a "all mototiams in Singapore interactive directory" using Google Maps.

This will be a benefit for all motorcyclists not just us.

Believe me, new riders will have no idea if you just pointed them to Ubi Industrial park to find Planet Motorcycles :)

Self-service if they had such a online interactive map, so you don't have to spoonfeed us newbies :3

I don't think that is necessary. Getting lost is half the fun and all the learning.

As the rear axle mounting bolt was towards the end of the green zone on my TA200. I decided to change the chain and front and rear sprockets. Genuine Honda parts. Will give the prices I paid here in Thailand in THB and SGD which is inclusive of labour, to give you some comparison. I also had the front brake pads changed.

Front Brake Pads 240 THB 10.3 SGD

"O" Ring Chain 2000 THB 88.40 SGD

Front Sprocket 190 THB 8.40 SGD

Rear Sprocket 550 THB 24.30 SGD

No difference in performance but the noise reduction from the transmission is considerable, I could barely hear the engine above the ssshshshsh of the transmission before, now all I can hear is the engine purring away contentedly. It is wonderful and another lesson learned, that transmission noise is not supposed to be there!! I guess we get complacent and accustomed to the racket that the bike is not supposed to be making.

Happy Trails

I believe shinco tyres are one size smaller than default... so top speed will increase, while acceleration and braking ability would decrease...

bro, when you said smaller, you mean the diameter of the wheel is smaller? or is it the width? Iprefer thicker width to make the bike looks 'fuller' or more chunky!
