Just bought a spark 135, brand new, Pump $6 petrol, 3 litre, mileage 160 km!!, i thought it was a joke, i pump another 3 litre, and it is true, fantastic. I travel around 80 km/hr, running in neutral at traffic light. Makes a lot of different.

Hi guys, what is the octane of petrol (eg. Ron98, Ron95) do you guy/gal uses for your bike? I came across this article which state "Using a higher octane gasoline than that will not make your car achieve better mileage, move faster, run cleaner or improve its operations in any way."

Is it just psychological effect of feeling our bike being more powerful when pumping high octane petrol?

Are we throwing our money away by using higher octane petrol than necessary?

I am currently ridding spark 135 using shell 98

I've heard that bikes like yours and mine ( X1-R ) do not need such good petrol.

I pump synergy 8000 (RON 98) but my mech said i was just wasting money.

He said our kind of bikes, Synergy 5000 / Formula 95 is good enough. Maybe RON 92 grade petrols might be good enough too.

Nevertheless, Its down to the owner of the bike. Some owners might think

" As long my bike moves, can already " while others will say " I want the best for my bike ". My 2 cents.. =)

correct.. i dun feel any significant improvement in using different octane of petrol. ppl said use vpower smoother ... 95 abit rough..

thats all bullshyt. hehe no offence.

unless u the kind i-have-money-to-spend-anyhow.

but i still prefer esso cos its nearer to my place. :D
