ok, after a few search, found the first builder is "motocafe"

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/member.php?u=10077

Hi there guys

I used to hang around in the forum a little when i owned a red monster 400 last year with GPR pipes. Due to having to work overseas in australia for about a year i sold it off and only just returned recently. I ended up being the guy that bought motocafe's highly customised and very very beautiful monster 900.

I was smitten with that bike since before i left for australia when i met him briefly and saw it in the flesh at michael's shop. When he started selling it i was about a month away from returning and lucky me, it was still for sale when i returned, and the rest is history.

I've been riding it for about a week now and am really enjoying it. Being laid up for so long there were some initial niggles like a leaky rubber seal in the gearbox which required a replacement before the clutch would function (required me to ride a fair distance to KC when it suddenly conked out. clutchless up/downshifts are very painful to do!!). Then i had to adjust the front end to be a little softer (it was just too hard/jumpy for riding on anything but perfectly level road, the suspension setup was very track-oriented) and stiffen the back to minimise lift during heavy acceleration particularly at highway speeds when the bike feels like its weightless forward of the engine (i suppose the light 996 wheels have a huge part to play in causing this). But mechanically overall the bike is just so well maintained and taken care of its almost unbelievable

I kinda considered myself as buying a work of art when i got this bike. Motocafe's passion when he talked about the bike to me was obvious and very infectious especially for a fella like me. So much has been done but i suppose i could do my part and make a few mods myself over time. I almost feel a sense of duty to do so. I'm currently saving up for billet clutch covers/springs, a belly pan, and am really racking my brains on how to pull off an exhaust upgrade on this thing. Its still on the stock 748 pipes, and although powdercoated black and very beautiful, the sound is really anaemic and conflicts totally with it's character. I don't suppose anyone knows where i can get some second hand 748 termigs. i've been searching everywhere for an option but no luck at this point. My only best bet at this point is to get another stock set of pipes and modify the current set with race baffles (found on ebay for about 130USD) so i get some more sound and performance out of it. Cheap & easy solution but not ideal by any means.

In the long term i'd like to repaint the bike to something similar to the race-stripe monster S2R/S4R scheme but that can come much later.

Thought i'd include some pics to show some of the little things about the bike which appealed to me so much. I'll try to attend a meetup if i'm free if you guys want to see it in person

This pic shows the how the tail end had to be bent to accomodate the pipes. you can see the metal plate below with the little caps that go on the end portions of the frame sticking out the bike. Thats attention to detail!

This is a pic of the console. I love how the same key works on everything! the ignition, the fuel tank (even though the fuel tank cap looks aftermarket), and especially the (very neat) helmet lock on the handlebar. There is even a headlight switch installed so i can turn off the headlights whenever i want

http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/4833/dsc00013rq4.th.jpg

Just a pic of the front setup with the 996 forks brakes and wheel. I love the front fender especially, it protects the forks from stone chips, it should be standard on all monsters

http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/3039/dsc00016fc2.th.jpg

Probably my favourite angle to view the bike from. Absolutely love the custom exhaust headers and the 996 single sided swingarm/wheel.

I guess now it's my turn to take care of this beauty. Don't expect to see this bike for sale anytime soon, if EVER :). If there was ever such a thing as a keeper, this bike would be it. Even if one day it really conked out so badly that it couldnt be fixed i'd probably just deregister it and put it on display in my living room or something LOL. Seriously big props should go out to motocafe (Daniel). The kind of work he did with this bike is just legendary and a humble fan like me is just floored. The bike world needs more people like him:thumb: :thumb:

they are different things all together! bike is a vehicle... you can get more than one of those... but your dearly beloved is a human... they cannot be compared at the same level...

anyway once again I'm online during a lecture
