now that I am home... can type properly...

 

got rammed by a black mercedes along pasir panjang road... the lady driver was oncoming and she just turned right... I saw that impact was inevitable so I had to react... I opened throttle all the way hoping that she would only hit my rear... luckily she only managed to hit my sidebox... my bike drifted sideways but I managed to keep myself from getting flung off the bike... had I moved any slower my right leg would probably be missing...

check your box/bike again....once i had a car run into my car..every thing seems okay...when u look at it for 5 seconds and decide in 2...later realised that the some plastic brackets,holding up bumper had broken...

 

in such a case...maybe we should ask for time to do a thourough check later at the work shop...if the impact is strong i am not surprised your box was damaged..in the sense the structurall intergrity has gone down..IMHO..

 

any way u r truly blessed without any injuries...ahh your luck is high...

Did you get her contact?

 

By the regulation set by the insurance, you have to file a report to IDAC within 24 hours, (ie: regualtion force people die die must claim lah) otherwise if later found out the No Claim Bonus will be void.

 

And it is better for you to claim against her, because like Mepkok said bike may LOOK FINE, but with a side-on collision, the alignment may be off already. If you go at high speeds, it's going to wooble like nobody's business.

 

And the chassis might have been weaken by the impact. After a few more months of riding, the vibration may cause cracks to appear, by then want to claim also cannot claim already. Worse case scenario ride inhavey traffic on expressway kena pothole, bike suddenly crack into 2 seperate pieces, no need to claim liao.

 

Even if bike is fine, you should minimumly claim a set of new boxes with mounting rack from her, because if you check your box, and rack, by stripping it off the bike and laying it on a flat surface, can see the rack sure crooked one after absorbing a car crash impact.

 

Box no need say lah, if not cracked also not water tight anymore.

Vic, I think what hunter is saying is that you should file the claim in case she files one against you without your knowledge. If that happens you'll likely to lose. That's what happened to me a few months back. The woman told me she wouldn't report the incident but when I called her a short while later she let it slip she's intending to report. I don't think she would have called to tell me if I hadn't called her first.
