if we can bargain down to S$577 , it will be reasonable. Coz S$577 = RM1300. This is the price MC accessories is offering for 10pcs.

If anyone goes to the shop on coming wed, feel free to bargain. Dun hv to mention my name or any names. Just ask 5pcs how much? Then ask 10 pcs how much. After that if price too steep, tell him we can actually go jb to install cheaper, but we prefer your shop, coz u r friendly. If he dun believe, give him the jb shop number to check. And we also will promote his exhaust in our SBF forum some more.

Is good u guys go take a look at he exhaust. After installing, the gap between the 4-1 pipes & the ground clearance will be reduced by 1.5". The gap maybe less than 2" only. If u think it will get damaged by road humps , u must ask for 4-2-1 design. If u dun study it, u may make wrong decision later.

 

Also see if it is really straight thru & no catalytic converters to restrict flow. That's if u want yr S4 to hv increase in horse power after installing.

The boss said will bring in 4-1 type & the ground clearence will be the same, & no catalytic converter. He will send the part to LTA for approver, hope will pass. But the price still very high, have to wait till the stock pipe end of life. o_O

previously when i was there, the WS boss, Norman told me front header no need LTA approval. The first piece he brought from MC was sold off without inspection papers he said. This is very confusing. Does it mean that every similar piece he brought to spore must be send to LTA inspection first?

today while in Motorworld, i asked how much is cheapest Yoshi endcan - S$600. Hopefully i can get second hand for half price. Then get stainless steel header, after that install dynojet & then tune it for maximum power! hehehe :cheeky:

today I also called MC Michael hp, asking when he is coming down? He said somewhere after 23rd Jan. He will confirm the date & let me know. Hope it doesn't clash with my touring trip to Labis waterfall on 26th Jan.

 

I told him the reason why i need to know the date is because many SBF has questions that no one can answer - not even the WS shop in eunos. Some SBF ppl are riding hayabusa, CBR400 etc & i can't ask question on their behalf.

 

I also ask him whether his full system got manufacturer specs which states the noise level etc? If dun hv, better ask the manufacturer in advance b4 coming to spore. He is going to ask his boss approval whether want to send the full system for LTA inspection.

 

I asked him any dealers in KL got order big qty or a container at export price from him? Coz sometimes dealers can sell cheaper than the main importer. He said at most 10 pcs, by a shop in KL.

I got a feeling that a target price of S$577 has caused many ppl in the existing MO list to lose interest. If that's the case, i might buy alone in jb shop for RM1300 for 1 pcs. Any feedback on this? Is S$577 too high?

saying goes, good thing dun come cheap.. furthermore it's a "claimed" race header..

 

that's why ppl here are sourcing for cheaper alternative as they just dun like the rust and need minimal improvement on their ride..

 

if it's too ex, dun buy.. else use that $900 to down for a small bike to ride..

i just called Seng kwang, they dun sell S4 header. Those header on display are for other models.

 

SK also said if you want stainless header, you can buy old Project big 1 stainless steel header second hand , then pay them $380 to modify for yr S4.

 

Market price for second hand header he say is 100-150. Its not easy to find one i think. The header also got no catalytic converter.

 

So total cost for conversion is $500 plus, & dun forget about the effort run here & there. Personally, i prefer a new stainless steel header from MC accessories. Hopefully i can get it for RM1300 (S$577)

S$577 sound reasonable to me to replace the current rusty headers. It would be cheaper than getting a full system. :cool:

 

The SK option is too troublesome IMO, as the pb header still need to be fabricated to fit into vtec. Might result in power loss as i read in other threads from some user who had installed it.

 

Hopefully we can have more to join the MO list to lower the price. Or maybe the rest are just waiting to change to the Revo vtec stainless headers and exhuast...

I hv been looking thru the garage sale for 2nd hand Yoshi end can, the last sale for Yoshi fire spec was $450 to someone. it seems that 2nd hand endcan are pretty rare & selling like hot cakes.

A new yoshi firespec cost $600, a new GPR endcan cost $580. Titanium LV endcan cost $600 also.

i also read somewhere that as soon as you installed a "full" system, its no good for yr engine - if u dun install dynojet & retune, which cost about S$300 plus.

iszit, full system without dynojet no good for engine?

Read this from the Yoshi thread:- Full system, during high rpm & high exhaust flow - allows more exhaust gases to pass thru header & endcan ; which results in more HP or torque. But must install high flow air filter ie. KNN, otherwise got back firing. In addition to that, because of higher exhaust capacity, u can install dynojet or kenso to inject more fuel to gain even more hp.

 

But during low rpm & low exhaust flow, there is lesser back pressure due to bigger exhaust openings in full system. This causes reduction in hp & torque at low rpm. i heard some bikes hv problem go up slope even; from stationary. So to compensate for loss of torque, must change to kenso or dynojet to inject more fuel.

 

But bikes with vtec is not so bad. Coz below 6000 something rpm, the vtec will close 4 inlet & 4 outlet valves. Closing the exhaust valves will restrict the exhaust openings & flow; results in more back pressure - prevent loss of torque. So during low rpm & low exhaust flow, a full system on a vtec bike has lesser impact on the torque performance.

 

Correct me if wrong, i no expert also.

I was told by a friend that the catalytic converter inside the header looks like a sponge with many holes. When my bike was new, i always feel a pull or power surge when my vtec opens. Nowadays no more pulling. I suspect my catalytic converter is choked of carbon. I hope the new MC stainless header can solve this problem - coz it has no catalytic converter.

i am wondering wat shld be the market price for a 2nd hand yoshi or micron full system about 2 yrs old or more for S4?

i wanna compare with buying 2nd hand yoshi endcan & new MC stainless steel header.

Btw, garage sale got ppl selling GPR endcan for $300.

how much would it cost?

btw can it b fix on version S as i heard vtec, version S & pb 1 diff header..
