U might want to compare that Hyosung with the upcoming XJ6 or an old Suzuki SV650 (which is also a 650 V-twin). In terms of chassis and engine, that Hyosung is nowhere close to a FZ6.

Cool, I'll go check them out...

hehehe... show you when everything are up... ard 1-3 wks time ba i guess...

LOL... by the way is it advisable to pump 92 on Fazer over the long run?

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Usually for bikes with higher compression ratios, they usually specify 95RON as the minimum.

92 won't hurt it for normal running, but might pre-detonate and cause pinging at higher rpm. Over the long run, pre-det will damage your pistons and conrod.

u add cushions blah blah blah? special kind of swap that got 2 textures like S2?

Smooth out the cushion as the original was in a bad shape and the fabric is 2 textures like the S2. Somehow I still think I was carrot headed....:faint:

just wondering, cos the fazer6 manual says that it is designed to use a unleaded petrol with octane 91 or higher..

so by right using 92 in long run shld not cause any detonation or pinging etc?

i read somewhere that said using higher octane number than wat is needed for the engine is useless = waste money?

so how? hahaha.. dunno wat to pump..

Yeap, sadly to said that nowaday, even modern motorcycles come with Fuel injection and O2 sensor,it is still not as high tech as cars.

Some cars equipped with knock sensor that changes it igination timing whenever it sense detonation,or advance it timing to take advantage of higher otane fuel.

If the manual says 91RON min, then 92 is safe to use.

My FZ1 has a sticker that says min 95RON. So I'll take 95 RON minimum. Unless I pump in M'sia where gas is cheap, then I'll use 97.

The octane rating of a fuel is basically just the measure of its detonation resistance. The higher the compression ratio (CR) of your engine, the higher the RON you gotta use.

CR is the ratio of the volume of your engine cylinder from piston BDC to TDC (pistons at the very bottom of it's travel vs top of travel). So basically it means how much it compresses the AF mixture. Usually hi-perf engines come with higher compression ratios.

In turbocharged vehicles, compression ratios are low... but high RON fuel is still advised, because turbocharging = forced induction = more air+fuel in the given CR.... meaning CR is artificially raised anyway. So they still need higher RON fuel, or risk having pre-det and bent conrods and/or blown pistons.

But using a higher RON fuel doesn't necessarily mean that you get more power from your engine.

:thumb: wow bro u really know ur technical details!

thks for the explanation..

yeah guess i'll just pump 95 unless fuel prices become absurd..

hello fazer bros..

brand new black fz6 up for sale..

deepest regret that i wont get to ride the fazer anymore.. but financially will be unable to support both a car and bike.

if u know of anyone who might be interested, kindly let me know!!

thks a lot! :)

Sad case. Didn't get to even ride the bike....

Oh well, practicality comes first I guess. I would have done the same in your shoes. The car can seat 5. The bike 2.

You can always get a bike later when you can afford to maintain both at one go.

Good luck for your sales.
