The route from what I saw includes Queensway... then enter PIE at Adams towards (Jurong) BKE, then BKE towards Mandai... then to the crematorium.

 

From what I can recall, I don't think we're crossing any ERP Gantries.

 

Anyway, for what it's worth, my Phantom's IU unit is also KIA-cum-RIP, so I guess if there is a surprise gantry somewhere, I'll join you in paying LTA fines.

If we take farrer road > Adam road > Lornie road > PIE, there are no ERP gantries northbound, don't worry.

Anyway,

 

tip for non-IU bikes.

 

If your IU is dead, or if you don't have an IU.... ride really close to a bike which has one, when crossing the gantry. The antenna won't be able to differentiate... and hence you won't get zapped.

Just FYI guys...if not registered or don't have IU unit...fine will be $70. Those wif IU unit but never put cashcard will be $10++ for each gantry u pass.

if u got no IU, u will get a letter to inspect the IU as it detect nothing. Just put it on when u go for inspection. If u got iu on and no card, then fine, others i cant help on info.

Switch OFF ur ignition (not ON OFF switch) b4 the gantry. After passing by the gantry, Switch ON and press the electric start back. But dnt forget to clutch in, on both occasions. Ur lucky if the fine never comes in 2 weeks!!!

why so? the IU taps current direct from your battery. it does not matter whether your ignition is on or off.

Just my 2cents bro...I'm sharing with those riders not with IU unit. It happens to me 3 times! 3 n only times that I've passed the gantries so far. 2 times on 1 day! Another 1 time is another day.

Coz I myself dnt have an IU unit

Anyway, the dimensions for the stickers is roughly 4cm at its widest and 4cm by its height.

my fellow brother outrider was at PG that fateful day and was witness to it.. he shared with me what had happened less than 6 hours ago and i spent the last 2 reading this thread in shock.. we are all deeply saddened by what happened but at the same time it amazes me what his friends and brothers here are doing for him..

 

i am sorry that it seems unlikely that any of the outriders can be part of his final journey but i will try my best to be there in representation despite it meaning that i would only have 2 hours of sleep..

 

i wish you all safe journeys..

ok ppl..the stunt man has already met the family and apologised..and i hear the stunt rider regrets his mistake and plans to give up riding.. i dunno if it is true or just a mere spur of the moment thingie but thats the info i got. and since the dad has already spoken with the accused, lets close this thread yeah?

 

Good to hear that he has met up to Marc's Family, That's alot of courage though.

I really hope that u had A Really Deep Lesson Learned.

A life gone cannot be brought back, but Marc has gone to a peaceful place now as a "Sorry" has been said. He died for he's passion, hobby, and happy. Not for something he do not wish to be. Lets all wish him well and rest in peace my bro.
