I am a woman who tower at a height if 150cm and weigh 45kg, aged 21 but looked like a damn kid, can't even ride a bicycle and recently enrolled in CDC class2b...

my short legs cant touch the floor even on a lowered yamaha125, as a result i cant "peddle" as well.

first lesson, fell down 5 times, got my left side all blue black, still cant even balance.....Deparate and in doubt if I can really ride...*squattin in corner drawin circle wth tears*

need some advise from seniors here..is there learning centres which provides even smaller bikes? I've considered to lengthen myself with platform shoes-____-ll

anyone with similar cui3 experience pls share with meTT thankyou!

falling down is very normal, especially during 1st lesson. don't be afraid to fall, you learn much faster when you fall (cos your brain will be scared then next time you will be more careful to repeat the same mistake). with all those crashbars and protective gears, you mostly will get some strains and bruises.

i'm not sure if you can make at least 1 foot touch the ground and stabilize the bike? if yes, then there is no problem at all!! Gd luck!

Actually knowing of how to cycle a bicycle & riding a motorcycle is completely 2 different matter, they require different techniques.

I'm about the same size & weight gal as u, got my 2b 2 yrs back. Though I passed TP in my 1st attempt, I went alot of times for lessons 1-8 & revision practises, spent quite a sum to get my licence. Just wanna say practise make perfect, don't get discourage after fall, you'll learn after mistake. :thumb:

Current bike : Wave R From Feb '07..

I remember during one of my prac and going on the narrow plank, i lost control, dropped the bike broke the headlight, signal light, side mirror also ok. Must learn from mistakes. haha.

Yo... actually to tell you the truth, I feel that maybe u should not ride.

Why? Coz if you are not confident or can't handle the 2B it maybe dangerous for yourself if u get your license next time on the road. What REALLY matters is your life not about getting the license

But if you really wan to ride then u must start training with a bicycle first lo or you have to train like riding a scrambler always leaning to one side. Cheers :)

When I read about the dangers of riding motorbikes, I gave up reading.

Dani Pedrosa can barely touch the ground on his RCV too. The secret is that you don't actually need your legs to touch the ground once the bike is moving. I don't think your long legs are going to help much when you need to brake or swerve.

Actually once the bike move off you don't really need a lot of leg power. Juz get used to it and then you will be fine even if you tip toe at a traffic light.

I am about your height, have rather short legs, same weight ... same gender. Passed 2b on 4th attempt. BTW, I am a expert racing bike cyclist and I used to do races when I was young. So, cycling didnt help me that much. Except that it did help me practice figure 8, crank, stylon and plank. Only because I was determined to get that license. I go to EC carpark and do really tight 8s, really wiggle like doing stylon. But I had to do 4 attempts becasue nobody corrected my improper checking.

Anyway, like you, I fell and fell and fell. The worst injury in 2B was sprained ankle. I got a bunch of bruises in 2A, lucky me pass on 1st try. Now doing 2, fell 3 times on 1st lesson. Severly sprained shoulder-neck muscle. Took 1mth to recover. Repeating lesson 1 next week... wishing myself luck, and you too. DONT GIVE UP!

1st bike - Kawasaki chopper.

2nd bike - 1 of the very few 125cc Dragstar... this bike went up Genting!

Current - 400cc Dragstar..

Next -.... 1100cc Dragstar......?

1st car - Starlet, 2nd car - Volksy Caddy, Current - Dat Terios

Next car will be another Volksy!

Agree! I'm not sure but I realise that some people that ride half-way and drop is because they are moving pathetically slow. Not to fast or too slow, just a maybe 20km/h and you can move smoothly. I'm not sure larhhs but that's what I observe at SSDC. I myself tried to ride at a damn slow speed and I drop on my butt too. Don't go WAY too slow, chances of dropping is higher.

And also, I'm 1.60+cm with just medium build but opposite gender of you. I always fall down at SSDC for my first few lesson. I remember dropping and rolling on the ground when I was doing my Figure-8. That was when I just turned in and I fell. JUST only. Because I wasn't used to the small corner. But it all went fine! Now waiting for TP on 21st Feb (:

Let me give u a completely opposing example:

i am 1.9m, yet i took 200+ lessons to pass. why? cos when ur leg is long, u tend to use ur leg to stop the bike. this is super dangerous, and i fell so many times until my legs are full of "battle marks" from learning bike. i even begin to think may be shorter is better.

then, 1 day it dawned on me tat it doesn't reali matter the length of your leg. it is how you coordinate your body posture and remember one key thing - LOOK FAR AHEAD. the thing that realli control ur bike is ur body, or more crudely, ur butt. u shd focus on the way tat u look at road condition, then ur body will align and u will make it! good luck to u!

May the problem with prac 1 is when u have to peddle backwards after throttling to hit the tyres.. But don't worry, no more peddling after prac 1. Haha..
