Hi Mr Biker, well I just think it the many "not enough" sleep that causes me to fall sick.. So can say I deserve it...

My child still have the lingering cough with lots of phlegm in but sadly she can't cough it out.

So have to keep giving her the cough medicine. Bad rain for today Friday as I am looking to ride :(

yeah, saw many bikers taking shelter at overhead bridges/underpass and also at the end of tunnels. Personally I'm quite comfortable riding in heavy rain plus I feel its not a lot safer to be at the side of the road vs on the road.

Only problem is when the rain falls so hard it hurts my face when wearing visorless helmets especially around the lips... its an unnecessary distraction. I avoid visorless helmets on rainy days but today was a sudden downpour.

Need to source for rain pants cos got too many holes due to contact with exhaust... unless I can try to patch it. Any suggestions on patching material?

I just use duct tape to patch holes on the inside. Not any normal tape. Must be the tok kong kind people use to tape shipping packages. It's super sticky, waterproof, and cannot be torn unless you purposely cut it.

You can't patch with anything else.

I think accurate term is Gaffa Duct Tape.

Lazada prices it at about $6 : http://www.lazada.sg/duck-duct-gaffa-gaffer-waterproof-self-adhesive-repair-cloth-tapenew-20mm-x-10m-white-6654448.html?ff=1

This one is super ****ing strong. My mom keeps a roll in the storeroom all the time and I use it to patch rain coat until I buy a new one.

It is also known as cloth tape? I used them for taping loose cables on the floor to prevent tripping cos it can tahan abuse a lot. Also used it on bike cover before, but become extremely sticky after a while, so not for bike cover.

My advice is to get a new raincoat. All these patching is but just a temporary solution. I do not like visors on helmets too. Mine is usually flipped up. The light (sunlight) that refracts from the visor seems to magnify and makes it brighter. To me at least. So it will only be down when it gets dusty or smoky . I once used these duct tapes on my previous ride's seats to cover the torn areas. It held up well. Just got those cheap ones at some hardware store.

I'm using Taichi Drymaster X compact.... the top is still holding up very well even on extreme downpour (in sg) so very hesitant to spend to replace the while suit...

I am against flipping visor up when riding. Many a times the visor is to protect your face from debris, sand, bees, bird strike, etc. **** can really happens anytime. If you're not wearing specs, it's even worse as there is nothing to protect your eyes.

High speed + naked eye... not a good thing.

Visor problem I know is those cheap types usually will have some distortion of view, but better known brands isn't suppose to be like tat. Either way, if distortion is too serious, change the visor. If it still doesn't work, wear another helmet.

Agreed that visor down is important while riding. It makes me uncomfortable when riding at a slight higher speed if visor is up.

read someone who luckily had his visor down when a flying stone hit him.

yeah, I had my fair share of problems riding without visor (eyes r however usually protected with shades or goggles)... agree its not the safest choice. What I wear to ride largely depends on the mood.. sometimes its full protection fm Jacket, gloves, riding boots to full face helmet, sometimes its a simple jeans & t shirt with 1/2 face visorless helmet. Or it cud be anywhere in between and each of them gives a different feeling.

But I ride slow and prefer it to be up most of the time. Just like the feeling of the wind on my face. I have had some of the weirdest things almost hitting the face. A bird and even a bat. The usual ones are stones, phlegm, food wrapper, cigarette butts and tissue paper to name some. Its alarming to know of the things drivers throw out the window.

SG bike price too high, maybe would consider Malaysian bikes since most of my riding involves going there anyway, can use forever also.

Riding in Spore seems to be only for posers, no good riding here without facing fines :slurp::slurp::slurp:.

I just kanna a bird strike recently, but hit my body instead of head. The birds were "crossing the road" and fly very low. I ride straight so bang straight into it. Didn't fall for me, but the bird dropped to the road. Luckily my rear wheel didn't go over. Check my mirrors and saw the bird still alive, quickly recovered it posture and fly off. No one injured, I presume.

Yea man, tis' the season again. Especially in such a small country such as SG where viruses easily spread.

Take care and try not to ride especially after taking medication. Once the drowsiness effect kicks in....

Its the weather I guess. Been raining on and off. Got caught in the rain and thankfully did not fall sick. Was just about 4 more traffic lights to the carpark and it started to get heavy. Getting wet while on the way back beats getting wet on the way to work tho.

It’s not something you can avoid or remedy; it’s not something you can easily let go of or forget about, either.

The real problem is you can never be entirely certain whether the two of you met at the wrong time in your lives, or you’re simply toxic for each other.

You may feel very strongly one way or the other, but you never know for sure. You can’t.

You know you’re right for each other. You feel like you’ve met someone you can see yourself spending forever with; yet, you aren’t able to accept what it takes to make the relationship work.

Arguements ensue.

You say and do things you can’t take back or forget. The two of you are confused as to what happened to the happy ending you once promised each other. But, now... where is it? Where’s our happily-ever-after?

Where’s the ease and bliss? You know you love this person, but at the same time, you aren’t capable of loving him or her the way you know he or she deserves.

If not you, maybe it’s the other way around. These things are often more one-sided than balance, but rarely is just one party entirely to blame.

Maybe you did meet the love your life at the wrong time. Maybe you’re simply toxic for each other. Then, you sort of have to stop and consider the possibility there is no difference between the two.

The answer is incredibly simple... in theory. The difficulty part comes in when you realise how difficult it is to do whatever it takes to keep the love alive. People usually know what it takes, yet they have a problem finding the motivation to go through with it.

We fail to distinguish the difference between romantic love and the kind of love that never fades – the kind of love weighing on us for years after the separation.

The agony of meeting the right person at the wrong time – of knowing how incredibly toxic the two of you have been and can be for each other – is detrimental because we are the very reason we can’t make it work.

We are the reason we can’t appreciate the beauty and rarity of what we have – not until we’re in the right state of mind. Sadly, by then it’s often too late.

Either too much damage has been done to be forgiven or the love of your life has found his or her true soul mate.

How can an individual be in a relationship for almost a decade and suddenly decides that his/her partner is no longer what he/she looking for anymore?

I believe love is more of a choice than a feeling as time goes by. You choose to be together, and you choose it everyday when you wake up. So at the end of the day, we actively choose to work things out together as a couple or not. But I guess sometimes people just decide to take the easier way out.

Now that you have made your choice to walk away from this and let me to fight this alone. I'd gladly accept it and as much as I'm grieving for this, there's only so much I can do and handle.

With what you put me through, still i love you.

I wish you all the best.
