2. WHEN YOU'RE FILLING UP, DO NOT SQUEEZE THE TRIGGER OF THE NOZZLE TO A FAST MODE.

If you look, you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode, you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created, while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.

tis 1 i agree n tried it out few days ago .. but obviously, the more petrol u pump, the more u pay .. but after trying out tat tip, i notice tat i haf more petrol in the tank n im paying the same amount of money ..

i shake the nozzle too but not to save on a few drops that don't even cost 1¢ . i shake it so that it won't drip all over my tank when i put the dispenser back.

Your fuel meter not working is it? If not, use your trip meter as gauge lor. I think the longer you get to know your bike, the better you'll get at determining how far you can take it before it runs out of petrol.

Fuel Economy Myths debunked

fill up when it's cool

False. Both Consumer Reports and Popular Mechanics have ruled this rumor false. Modern pumps are temperature-compensated to regulate fuel density, according to Popular Mechanics. Even if they weren't, gas temperatures typically remain stable all day, Consumer Reports writes, rendering the advantage of going out of your way to pump at a certain time negligible.

Pump slowly

False. There's no truth to this claim, according to John Paul, AAA's Car Doctor. Gas station systems are designed so that little air or fumes will take the place of the gas for which you're paying dearly. There is one perk to pumping slowly, according to Paul. "What that will do, the end result is you will get a fuller tank, but you're still paying for it."

Avoid filling up when you see a fuel truck

False. While a fuel delivery may stir up sediment that gathers in a station tank, both the gas station and the car have filters that will prevent sand or dirt from affecting your car's performance.

It's somewhat of a hold over fear dating back to when gas tanks were made of metal rather than fiberglass, said John Paul, AAA's Car Doctor, in an interview. Stations regularly test their fuel supply for quality, he said.

"If you're on 'E,' and the low fuel light's on, and the only station around is the one with the tanker, go, and get the gas," Paul said.

a little under 160 liters.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrel_(unit)

at oil prices at 130usd per barrel, that should equate to usd0.80 right?

Wrong.

there are other factors that oil companies put in, like the refining of the oil to its sub categories from kerosene, gasoline to crud.

which at todays technological advances, makes it possible to refine 159liters of petrol (or commonly refered to as "gasoline") from a 159 liter barrel of oil.

that is impossible even with high gasoline yield crude. residue can only be cracked to a certain fraction and let's not forget the yield of gas in crude. distillation alone gives you the standard cut of gasoline and further cracking of residue will give you another cut. it will NOT convert the entire barrel of crude into gasoline. anyone who says that it will has no tech and no facts to base their claims on.
