The mechanic told me that about 2 months ago. That time i was doing a top overhaul so he was able to examine the engine block too.

 

Sometimes i do hear a bit of metal "pinging" sound. Especially when i purposely rev the bike in neutral in the carpark.

 

The bike is 13 years old now. I have no idea about the service history so i dont actually know how long this engine block has been used for.

Block issue normally will produce knocking sound not metal pinging sound.

 

When u do servicing, get mech to open block head. Position the piston to top.Touch the piston and try to shake it. See piston sit tightly there or not. If block still good, piston should stay very tight there.

 

U can adjust piston position from the kick starter. Lower down the piston, try touch inner block, scratch or not. Block bad normally will hve lot of scratches

My bike died on me today. In the morning it was ok but which i when i switch off for like 15 min and wanted to start it back i can't. Idky, anyone ever experience this? Is it my carb or spark plug?

 

And any good/honest shop to recommend for service or overhaul? Went to planet after Desmond recommended, good reliable shop, but any other?

Unplug hose from tank to ur carb see petrol flow or not?

 

If flow then check your plug. Ensure connected properly

Someone showed me long ago but i totally forgot where its located and how to toggle on/off or half choke if there is..

Hi guys, another problem with my bike, just wanna have an idea whats wrong before i bring to shop for fixing.

Basically, 2 days ago start my bike, realised my rpm meter is not moving, speedo and fuel gauge is still working. (so shouldnt be meter problem?) And it was under the rain on that day.

Then rode for like 10km, realised my engine is very hot, cause could smell something burning like that.

Today rode to and fro from work, same thing, engine very hot when i stop. Thought it could be coolant problem, so went to check it and it seems to be low on coolant.

 

And lastly, bike totally feels different from when i riding the previous week.

1)bike felt light and felt quite smooth actually after the rpm problem for my next 2 journey.

2)only today when going home after rain, warmed up my bike, but the whole journey home the bike sound like the engine is still cold, even though i can feel the heat from the engine.

 

Any ideas about this problem? Appreciate your help guys. Thanks

Change rpm wire and check coolant level, topup if needed

Looking for an occasional run on a KRR and I can get a very nice 2nd hand one here in BKK for about $US1,000.

 

I used to run an NSR150 and I want something VERY light and RACEY because my other bike is...a bicycle.

 

Maybe a Gilera CX but apparently they are all in collections...

 

Anyone know where to find a CX in BKK ?

There's a problem with my bike, from my previous post, i mention that my bike can't seem to start, it died randomly when am riding it, advice given to me is to try and wash carb and change spark plug, i just did that but still can't start

 

Could the rectifier (i think it's the name) that is connected to the spark plug cable could be the problem? Coz before putting in the new spark plug, I kickstart to see if got spark to see if have any but none ( could it be the problem?)

 

After fixing it all back i pushed start my bike, it can start for awhile but when my speed decrease, it died again.

 

Hope you guys can give me a rough idea on what's the problem, truly appreciate it, thanks all

Check petrol switch and clean the filter

Before change, I suggest to check on fuel filter inside your petrol switch

 

Coil seldom got problem. Kr also compatible with yamaha yz coil
