Apparel : RS TAICHI Riding Gears

Went to Motoworld lately and bought this Taichi jacket for $250. It has protectors on shoulder, elbows and back. Very rain proof and can be worn in cloudy days and nights too. Only wearing in a sunny day will leave you sweating.

If you cannot fit into the men's M size, can try the women's L size.

I am quite satisfied with this jacket.:cheer:

One of the salesman from an apparel shop tried to sell me a women's sized S jacket. Of course, I didn't want it.

I only found out when I went to the shop again to browse the availability of the men's S size jacket. The honest saleslady told me that they do not bring Men's S-size RS Taichi jackets but told me that the ladies' line has an M for my size.

When asked of the difference between the Men's jackets and the Ladies, she told me that the ladies' jackets are made with the ladies' "hourglass" figure in mind.

In the end, I didn't buy it. (kudos to the saleslady that pointed it out :thumb:)

it comes w/ pants?

Only the jacket. Pants sold separately

Seems like the Rainbuster might fit the bill for my needs as i dont want a bulky rainjacket. At the same time i am really starting to get pissed off at my current "free" jacket. Being cold is not a problem, i can always wear a jacket underneath.

Gonna check it out when i bring my sis's scoot for servicing @ tong aik.

hope they also have the rainbuster boot covers for sale.

hi,

my rainbuster seems to be doing quite well for about a yr plus. no wet patch at belly/tummy area nor at kneecap area. its damn thin so easily foldable. the only thing is that bcoz its thin, if u kena heavy rain u get free pin massage hehehe. u feel cold but still keep u dry.

best raincoat i tried so far. good stuff.

the length of the coat is like trenchcoat so theres no way in hell water can seep in thru your pants...

guys for the RS taichi mesh jacket 280 how many i going to wash? send to laundry kinda exp.

you can hand wash it with mild soap. and struggle with the more stubborn neck area, among others.

or you can stuff it in the washing mashine and pray very hard that doesnt kill itself, as well as the washing machine and other clothes thats in the washing machine in the progress.

or you can just pay the laundromat a token sum to take care of things, and the dude will even wrap it in plastic and give you a clothes hanger. Its not like you wash your jacket everyday, right?

The whiny Singaporean that I am, I WANT TO COMPLAIN! :sian:

Pants are too baggy for skinny folk like me, even when i tightened the velcro to the max. I will need remind myself to buy some velcro straps for the pants.

The pocket positions for the DryMaster is bizzare. Internal pocket is on your left breast. the single upper pocket that it has is also on your left breast. No pocket on the upper right, but theres a single pocket on the lower right jacket. No pocket on the lower left. Loading my ciggys+lighter on my outer pocket and my handphone and wallet on the inner pocket makes me look like a beast cancer post op.

I would like to know if there is some kind of spray that i can use to rejuvenate the jacket. I imagine that there is an invisible layer of wax on the outside, that is what makes the jacket waterproof. Perhaps silicon spray can rejuvenate the jackets? especially on the often distorted areas like the knees, elbows and groin?

TS, have you tried taichi's rainshoe cover ?

Isit good? or for rain shoe i should go buy normal type is good enuff?

I intend to, when motorworld brings in my tail bag. I do feel that its significantly more expensive that the pvc rain shoe covers that i keep seeing, but it does seem to be more durable. I suppose i could just buy them water proof touring boots instead, but thems expensive. I could also just keep using my SAF issue combat boots too, but its heavy.

reviews by this month.

Hi for RSJ222. It is $370/-. IT comes with hard protection armour on the elbow, shoulder, and back.

For RSJ223, It is the same as RSJ222 except all is soft armour. However the price is only slightly different. We would recommend to get RSJ213, RSJ220, RSJ218. All 3 models are going at less than $200/-. Shoulder and elbow armour is included. Back is foam padding. Protection is almost the same as RSJ223. Thus more value for money.
