get it done at your friendly mechanic, Ah biao from magic motorwerx! cheap! at about $30++ can't remember the exact price... instead of using 2 bolts which might fly off, he weld up the egine intake point instead. i must say it's a damn well done job.

next up! kex has done it and so have i. ok this is the "capacitor" looking thing at the bottom of your carb. it's located near the point where your carb connects to the air box. the "capacitor" is actually this thing that works very much like the auto choke on most new cars' carbuerator. except for it pulls open a trap door to release air inside.. so maybe it's for some extra air or something like that...

Anyone want Rabbit Oilers for the DRZ - I put some pix up tomorrow.

This one is the integrated resevoir/bottle version, then a tube leading to the dripper.

The bottle is mounted on the subframe just below the air-box cover.

90ml bottle

2 cable ties to secure boittle to sub-frame

2 cable tie to secure dripper+tube to swing arm (swing arm very long one)

Includes on/off control valve

Will take me 30 minutes to fit.

For the DRZ riders only - introductory price of $20

Current FAZER600-Naked

Hey Ryan, is there any significant difference in after removing the pair and the capacitor?

hmm.. slight better throttle response... and i got my throttle cables adjusted today as well.. there were too much free play for the stock settings.

Oic, think i'll leave those there for the time being.

Holy crap, i almost buang big time earlier when i went for a ride after work. Came into this corner too fast and didn't realise that there was sand up ahead and my rear wheel slid and the bike fishtailed like a mother i almost lost it. Had i not put my shift foot down in time, i wouldn't have escaped with a twisted ankle and some cuts and bruises on me leg. :slapforehead:

guess my next mod will be the axle sliders from biketech. :sian:

As far as I know...

DJ Stage 2 was made for E with FCR carb.

However the popular choice for E would be the JD kit.

DJ Stage 1 was made for S with CV carb.

What you're really paying for is the needle. The jets are generic.

That's as far as my experience with the JD kit goes.

Speedzone is selling it. I'm not sure if it's the equivalent of the JD or the DJ kit though. The other day when i went to change my sprocket, Errol showed it to me. Maybe it's for KTMs or other makes.

140 is mighty small for a FCR bike. Typically the E uses 155 and above. hardrider and I are running 160s.

Hi guys, I am newbie to the scram world. I will be collecting my DRZ-S soon and I was hoping you coud give me some advice on the following:

1) I will be ordering the case shields from TT and I read an excellent guide on how to put it on (somewhere in this thread). One thing I didnt get is the part about using a contact cleaner to clean the shield and the case. What is this contact cleaner?

2) Bitec doesn't have anymore MCCT. Can anyone suggest where I can get 1 locally?

3) Previous owner reduced the bike height. Now, even after my mech raised the height back, I can still put both my feet down comfortably. The seat has been cut as well, so I guess that could be the reason bike is low. Is there a "correct" height for this scram, as in whats it stock height? I am not that tall (1.8m) and I read that the stock DRZ is pretty high.

4) Chain oiler available for DRZ? My mech suggest I put on scott oiler. Anything else available?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

basically just clean the place with some solvent and wipe dry. if not you might want to use degreaser or WD40 etc etc to make it sparkling clean. basically just ensure your case is clean before sticking on the case shields. just a reminder, the case shield doesn't really protect from toppling of bike. meaning to say if people in car park knock your bike over, it will still puncture the case. sad to say there's no remedy as only 1 side of the case can be changed for a harder alloy case.

2) Bitec doesn't have anymore MCCT. Can anyone suggest where I can get 1 locally?

you can get the APE one. a little bit more troublesome to install.. need an extra gasket and all... i doubt yo ucan find it locally unless 2nd hand.

this i have no idea.

pm chris525. he has some oiler for sale at $20 bucks for DRZ riders. semi automatic. he made it himself and it's working well.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

thank you too! welcome to the DRZ club.
