i wonder if some super duper noob who juz passed n doesnt know anythin abt the history of our bikes think dat only rs125 comes with the latest 06/07 design? maybe he thinks dat the old spider-butt bulbous RS is not RS?

Sigh, I get really upset when I see noob coming to bike model specific threads and post a question only to get sniped by the (supposedly) more knowledgeable and (experienced) people here. Whats the problem with asking some (basic) questions?

 

Anyone here born with the knowledge? Anyone here who have never asked people about bikes and glean their knowledge solely by self learning? I dun think so.

 

For goodness sake, people dun know, thats why they ask! If one does not know the answer or do not wish to give the answer, then pipe down and let others answer!

ok perhaps i didnt say this clearly. a few times i passed by 06/07 riders n gave them a nod or wave n they juz give me a blur-sotong look.perhaps in their mind,"if we're riding the same bike,i will wave back,but who r u n wat bike u riding? my bike is nicer than yours.."

if on the road.. i find it hard to notice any fellow rider..

 

they either pass me or i pass them without knowing that they are riding rs125..

i am concentrating on the road instead of what kind of vehicle passby..

 

I saw a few 04 and below series.. they just pass me too..

 

i am riding a 06 and saw a fellow 06 rider at ah boy but he just walk off with his gf..

 

on expressway another 06 also rode off..

 

all the time is me and my friend.. both of us riding 06 on the road..

 

doesnt mean 06 rider look down or being noob about the 04 series and below..

 

it might just be that we are concentrating on the road..

high and low valve? meaning? your rave control unit spoil or your powervalve spoil? please explain further..

 

valve spoil means when you whack above 8k, the valve dosen't open/exhaust note dosen't change(it do change but little u gotta notice)..

 

alternatively.. life up your tank, on your bike, @ neutral, blow ur bike.. bring ur rpm up to 8-9 and see if u're valve is moving.. shine a torchlight into ur valve housing there..(the block that side) u can see the cable being pulled..

all the model before 06 looks different..

 

they are more or less the same internally.. :/

 

a brand new 06 125 should cost 15K+- on the road..

 

if you want a transport bike.. this is not the one.. :/

i intend to get one n possibly hang on to it all the way. but then again, i'm opened to more options.. so i come here ask around and find out more first before making my decision. hehe.. which shops sell the latest rs125??

 

fyi: all the above u mention are rs125 and there's almost no difference except it's look.. replica comes with 34mm carb the rest are 28mm.. as for the '06/'07 the cdi is SLIGHTLY different..

 

firstly.. how long u intend to ride this rs125? if at least 2-3yrs, u can consider getting one.. if not no point.. cos it's abit hard to find 2nd hand one.. even have also at least 10k in total.. that excluding your insurance.. how old are you? if 18 P plate can cost u 1.3k =) that's 3rd party hor..

 

 

if u finding transport bike.. i recommend u a few:

 

- phantom 200cc (4stroke) dont get the 150cc (2stroke).

- honda wave

- yamaha spark t135

Eh...aprilia got make any engines? Even their GP bikes uses Rotax engines..unless Rotax is Aprilia then we all learn something everyday!

 

RS125 from Rotax

RS250 from Suzuki.

RSV from Suzuki (TL1000R engine right?)

Scooters engine? I'm not sure.

 

Nobody likes 250 riders lah. Drink petrol like a WRX and sound like grasscutting machine...so sad...

Erm... Actually Aprilia does alot of R&D for engines nowadays. They even designed the new V4 1000cc engine. Cant wait for that bike to come out.

 

Anyway, RS250 all dont use the suzuki engine. Aprilia has improved on it and created a new engine based on those specs for the newer 250s right? I believe Rotax the primary manufacturer of engines for Aprilia for the 125 and 250. And i dont think the RSV engine is from the TL1000. Aprilia RSV is the one bike to use the V60 engine, developed by their on engineers.

 

And to clarify 34mm carb only comes on the bikes that follow the rotax 123 engine specs. So all Extrema model and the early early batch of Replica RS125s have the 34mm carb. Later models of Replica all the way to the current RS125s all follow the rotax 122, so all come stock with 28mm.

Er...which newer RS250 you were refering to? All are using the same engine. Maybe there are slight difference but you can still use Suzuki pistons and cylinders.

 

Any links to the V4? Race bike or road legal bike?

Haha. No thanks bro. But seriously, i think your suspension is overpriced and not worth it. Might as well, you buy the Bitubo adjustable that afew of us are using.

 

Are you really going to play with the compression, rebound, and damping settings that much? Like what edwin pointed out, where are you going to go for servicing?

 

If you're really into have a damn good suspension, you should have gone for Penseke. They have the customer support down here in SG already. You dont need to send your suspension overseas for servicing.

 

Anyway, end of the day, it's your money, your choice of how to spend it. But just be prepared for a long wait if it's going to come from Biketech. Haha.
