i doubt there is service history report.. basically i have no idea about maintaining a ducati.. if all goes well, i will be taking over the 916 from a mechanic who nvr rides the bike cos he dun have the license.. i did went to view the bike, it was in pieces as he was doing maintenance i presume.. what i can see is leovince pipe with spare dnd pipe.. ohlin front back.. rims i dont know what make are they.. other than that, i did not get to see the spares.. he did told me he will pass me all the spares.. i also requested for the single seater..

What u see is secondary.....primary is deep inside..?? Alternative....u may consider refer the bike for medical check up at rays / minerva with minimal cost incurred before decision making..

Hey Guys,

Does anyone here have any experience with purchasing 2nd hand bikes from Excel Cycle?

I saw one Streetfighter base model the last time I went and was really interested, but was sold to a lucky guy. There's an S model still available there, but I'm really keen on a Red streetfighter, and I doubt I will ever benefit substantially from the Ohlins and TC so still keen on a used, red, base model one. Also, I don't have the monetary comfort to buy a brand new one from Minerva.

I'm getting a little impatient in waiting and I'm doubt used Streetfighters go on sale very regularly, so I might settle with the one available now - although it's black. Maybe could always respray it at a later date?

Either ways, any feedback is really appreciated. Really, really, really keen to get my first duke.

Hi bro, you sure it's ohlins front and back? To my knowledge (not 100%) there is no 916 with ohlins front. I think the 916 sps has ohlins on the back. The rest were showas all round. Unless the previous owner went aftermarket ohlins but those are really expensive. Better to clarify

Vipergod. MHO is when selecting a used duc, where possible, ensure the FRAME is the colour you want. Those require a lot of work to strip and spray or powdercoat should you wish to do so in future. The actual body colour, esp on a naked like the streetfighter, can be easily changed.

Streetfighters are relatively new models but as time goes on you should expect to see more start to appear in the secondhand market. So personally i would wait for the right one to turn up.

As for S versus non-S. I would still get the S. There is not much difference in price secondhand but will increase the desirability should you sell in future.

Hey bro,

Thanks for the advice. I couldnt agree with you more on the frame colour matter. Luckily, i fell in love with the bike before it came out with the black/red frame - which from my research is for 2011 models onward... I think :)

I guess the justification of the S hold true as well if i choose to part with it later. I dont foresee myself selling it soon after i buy it, because ive been holding out for a duke for a long time - and ive came from considering many bikes, waiting for the to be released 2012 r1, monster 696, s4rs, 848 evo, brutale, and finally coming to the long decision on the sf so im set. The process has taken the past 6 months or so and i think this bike should be with me and fit my needs quite well for everyday, trips up to sepang and further - because i love riding, and cant get enough of it.

Anyway, if anyone can post or PM me some feedback or experience from purhssing from the above shop - it'd be greatly welcomed :) thanks for the precautionary pre-purchase advice.

If anyone's looking to sell their sf too, do PM me if you know about a shop tt could facilitate a loan for a duke .

Cheers,

Viper
