Hi,guys,I am new here, just wanna to ask the 2010 or 2011 Ducati 1198(dry cluth).I intend to try this beautifull intalian sportbike but I really dont know how is the maintenance and servicing cost to this bike(currently using fz8) ,is it same with the other Japanese sportbike like R1 or Cbr1000?Is the mechanical parts wear and tear durability is longer than the Japanese sportbike? Can it be service in the normal workshop or must go to ducati service centre?I have see a lot of this 1198 sportbike selling with very low mileage,is there any major problem to this bike?I hope that Brother who is experience riding the Ducati bike will give me a guideline and opinion about this sportbike. Thanks you very much....

I would say that, if you really love the bike. Then buy and own one, not to regret it when the bike needs repairs.

Its not the same as jap sports bike. But the heat should be around the same.. hehe

There are a few other workshop that service ducati too (worx, bike harbour, ram etc).

Wear and tear for major servicing is 12k interval. Maybe some research will spark your interest in this beast.

Hi guys... I just got a SF1098S. I want to clean up the rear end of the bike by installing a tail tidy kit. The whole bike is LTA friendly so far. So would removing the stock rear fenders and installing a tail tidy kit attract those LTA dogs to go hot behind my rear? Thanks and cheers!!

It is impossible to defeat an ignorant man in argument.

LTA always look at your tail section first as they trailing you from behind. If you leave the rear everything stock most of the time they will overtake you and look for other victims.

Well I guess the only thing LTA can find fault with my SF is the front number plate. There's no good place to mount the front number plate, I use a small sticker type... really no other options

I've gone so far as to remove the complete rear tail tidy, with a motodynamic integrated flasher and pasted the small number plate sticker which was supposed to be for the front at the right side of the tail section without any trouble. Might I add that the tail tidy kit will also give you some considerable spray if you ride in the wet, regardless of the tail tidy make.

I find that, weird as it may be, that the original tail tidy that sticks out is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Trim your plates leaving no borders between the number and the plate edges. If you're in to a set of aftermarket cans, you can look at G&G cans. I've had them before and I have had no troubles with the authorities.

Hi guys... I've been thinking of getting a Monster. Can current monster riders help by giving any feedback?

Thanks!

Its easy to ride, cheap to maintain, common and lacks the soul. Honest opinion.

why there isnt any 1198 on sales..

1098 or 1198, no difference. If you are really looking for the 1198 displacement, look for a 1098R, you'd be surprised how much bike you can get for that asking price. I've seen one for sale at a shop.

LTA Dogs are attracted to the red like moths to flame. When you see one, just clutch in, turn off your engine and cruise while lane splitting. :)

If cannot find 1098 R, look for a 1198 SP.....:) Good Luck
