if te rattling still there after the chains are correctly tension..

if this comes from the chains...i thoink the chains is a basket case...

never do anything silly like removing a link so that the tension could be adjusted as this is asking for trouble..

can you elaborate how was the chains being chained..ha ha.

after reading this, i realised i have a major typo error...

it was changing. not chaining. i'll be damned...i've change the whole set of sprocket and chain altogether

im having a scree sound when im using the rear brake, but the brake pad was changed like 2mths ago...

any suggestions for solutions? or was it crooked when i changed the chain+sprockets?

it was done by the china man @ planet...dunno his skills how...when placing the cover back he can forget about the rubber "head" inside the cover until i told him abt it...:(

the only possible causes i can tink of is accumulation of dust, jammed caliper piston or warped disc.. drop by a bike shop and blow d dust out 1st.. ask ah chong lar..

check your chain guide or roller..

did you clean and lube your chains on a regular basis?...dirty and bad maintenance is a source of chain noises too.

Do you know where the chain roller is? It gets worn and is cheap and easy to replace. $10-15 at planet. Anyway, there is a saying that honda bikes, chains are very noisy. Just make sure they are 1. Well lubricated. 2. Tension is right. Dont let the sound get to you. Check for Stiff links too. If anyone wants a bike jack to check and chit chat, let me know.

This is the sign of a faulty starter system. Have you successfully push started before? Did it rain the night before? Let it dry first (:

1. Check if kill switch is on.

2. Next take out spark plug to dry.

Should be ok after that.

If got starter moving means all ok until starter. After that is spark plug.

yeah, the phantom bulbs are not even H4, so installing HIR will increase current draw, shorting the wires.

stick to the stock bulbs i suppose. or you can always install extra spotlights.

Hey guys,

My phantom is not able to start :(.

I left it at the car park for 2 and half weeks, without starting.

I had disconnected the battery before leaving, so the issue is not the battery.

I can hear the ehehehehehe crank sound but the bike doesn't come to life.

I did it so many times that the battery is also dying now :(

The choke on my phantom doesn't work. I had tried it earlier too, when I pull it I dont find any change in RPM.

Any suggestion what to do? I stay at Pasir Ris. Towing it to Planet Motors will cost 25$. Is that the best thing to do?

- spark plug connector seated properly?

- plug out spark plug and ground it.. crank the engine n see if got any spark...

dats all i got to offer... :) sry.. limited knowledge here bro.. though if ur battery gg to weak alr, i suggest just tow lor.. or if u got charger, charge 1st then try agn.. :) all the best!

Hey guys,

What do you use to lube your chain? I dont want to spend much on chain lube and at the same time using EO to lube chain is not good, it drys off very fast.

The manual says use 90 Weight gear oil. So I think I am going to use that. Any idea where to get gear oil for cheap?

most people that i know ...know what i use...

never have to clean chains anymore..haha...good luck to all those who use chain waxes..

dont forget to clean your chains..as spray lube is the best when you clean your chains first..

if no cleaning...back to the good old days of dirty looking grease on your chains..

i used to use maxima chain wax myself as well. personally think its the best amongst all.. 1 can serve me abt 1 year plus so far.. still got abit left.. it really quitens the chain noise alot, and i rarely hv to adjust my chain.. but i got a bit irritated by cleaning it from time to time..

so i hv jux fixed up my own diy chain oiler and it cleans my chain as well... everytym i park, it will leave a few drips of dirty oil... and wif the right dosage, there is minimal fling on ur rims.. and its phantom anyway.. can clean the rims in less than 1 min! haha!

anyway, those who have issues with chain noise, can try change the roller guide.. i bought mine for $5 from Eversuccess.. and a 5min DIY with just a 12mm spanner... my chains are a whole lot quieter nw!

Hello Guys,

If I dont start my bike for like 2 days, then I have starting problem. I will have to crank some 4-5 times and then it will start. I can hear the cranking sound i.e. ehehehehehehehe. But still it takes 4-5 cranks to start. But if I am ride my bike daily then the bike starts in a single crank.

Last time I went for vacation and had left my bike in the parking lot for some 18 days and had disconnected both the +ve and -ve terminal, but still when I came back and reconnected it was not starting. Again I could hear the crank ehehehehehehe and tried some 10 times still bike didn't start finally battery died because I tried so many times. Then I called a friend and we both push start the bike and it started.

After reading all the above symptoms, do you guys think its a battery problem or some other problem. Please help. I am scared that if I dont start the bike again for 3-4 days my bike may die. :(
