Mods,

Thank you for shifting my query here. Sorry to create unnecessary threads!

Hello,

I would like to buy a new FF/OF helmet, an armour jacket and riding boots for my 2B lessons at BBDC. Can anyone here please recommend a shop(s) that carry these items? I am going for a rocker look so I am looking for items in black. Thank you.

Kind regards,

The Midnight Star

Full face is overkill for 2B lesson.. especially with close circuit with much waiting time..

same goes for armor jacket. i find it too hot and not enough air flow in driving center.

LOL. FF + armour jacket + boots in BBDC = hardcore over kill.

Well, the shop along LAB has almost everything you need.

Hello,

I am looking to get either the 150 or 200 for my first bike. I am getting a used bike because I will be upgrading. Can anyone here please recommend a good 2nd-hand Phantom dealer? Thank you.

Kind regards,

Midnight Star

Get a Ta 200 from the forum!

Do the necessary changes at the start. Brake pads, tyres, servicings with good oil, chains and sprockets.

Runs pretty well.

This was my ex phantom. Gave me Constant consumption of 32-36k per litre. Ta150 is more powerful but drinks from 22kpl to 26kpl with extra on the cash for a good 2t oil. Harleys go from 18 - Commonly 22kpl. Think about it.

Maybe it's time for a change on E.O? Haven't had that problem with my TA200, but then again, I've only been riding for a week and it's my first bike.

Hi Brothers & Sisters,

I am looking for shop/workshop/place to get my new old Phantom washed as I do not have time to join the forum bike wash activity.

Could you all please share with me places that provide bike wash services at a reasonable price?

Appreciate your recommendation. Thanks!

Hello guys,

ok, i am damn new at this, in fact i just registered for an account today, and i tried looking for the answer to a question i wanna ask, but i cant to the best of my ability, so bros pardon me if this qn has been posted before. Ok the scenario is like this.. i have jus inherited a TA200 from my bro who has moved abroad to work, and i have jus changed all the things that i shud from uncle chiong from planet motors ytd, namely, brake pads, spark plug, air fliter, engine oil. Is there anything i shud take note of? i know engine oil change every 2000km, and spark plug and air filter every 15000. and another thing is regarding washing of bike, what soap is recommended? how to i polish it? and some damn cats have been scratching my oil tank area, got tiny long nail marks and i once saw a cat slp on it before. anyways to get rid of it?

Ok, so summarizing my grandmother story, my main 3 questions are these:

1. Apart from engine oil, brake pad, brake fluid, spark plug and air filter, are there other things to take note of during servicing?

2. what detergents can be used to wash phantom? my fren told me jus use those household soap can liao, e.g. mama ling mong, cif etc. is it true? and any recommended brands for bike polish?

3. how to get rid of scratch marks on my bike?

thanks so much bro, and sorry for any inconveniences caused =)

Hello guys,

Ok, so summarizing my grandmother story, my main 3 questions are these:

1. Apart from engine oil, brake pad, brake fluid, spark plug and air filter, are there other things to take note of during servicing? basically this is it, nothing much to take care of, phantom is a very reliable bike...

2. what detergents can be used to wash phantom? my fren told me jus use those household soap can liao, e.g. mama ling mong, cif etc. is it true? and any recommended brands for bike polish?

try not to use household detergent, as they are harmful to certain parts of bikes, and also they do not offer protection as conventional carwash shampoos do, go over to sheng shiong and purchase turtle wax car shampoo shd not cost more than $10

3. how to get rid of scratch marks on my bike?

try polishing it wif a polishing compound then seal it up with a layer of wax..if its too deep there is nothing to be done already...

Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you'll be able to see farther.

Came to my bike today after a long time without use and the battery is dead :( tbh I'm a bike maintenance noob. I can't even see the battery! Can I jump it off a car? Can I push start it?

Thank you

give it a push start.. if its jux a flat battery, it shud be able to start.. ride to d nearest workshop to hv it charged, or best is change new one lor.. cux usually flat, the battery will hv difficulty retaining its charge after dat..

A ride a day, keeps the doctor away!

Thanks, I pushed it down a hill and got it started by hitting the starter and releasing the clutch in second.

Still need tips on a good place to get it serviced if anyone knows anywhere?

Posted

it could be the carbon starter that may be giving you problems, in addition to battery flat.

so next time if bike cannot start, and you hear eeeeeek sound from right side chrome cover, probably is the carbon starter.

what ah chong from planet will do is give it a good whack with a block of wood. I AM NOT KIDDING.

but because i love my bike, what i usually do is remove the right chrome cover and tap around the wire and fuse area, you should see the neutral light go on and off as you tap. then try starting again and tap again.

For a ta200, just plugs and oil, just anywhere can do it. Air filter diy from ah boy.

Occasionally tyres, chains, brakes and brake fluid bleeding.
