Uhmm I guess ya coolant level might be low...buy a coolant... DIY flush out old coolant and top up and try... Usually e fan kicks in at 106degrees...better get it checked before e air pressure builds up and blows up e radiator hose... My friends blackbird got kena before.. And it's nasty to have hot coolant splashing on e bike and e rider... Cheers :D

I have tried that for a few times instead :) Buying coolant alone also get mad :)

i think u need to check ur coolant pipes and tang ki 115 is too high.. i never go above 110 even in jam

check ur fans too

OK. I will Try from fufu suggestion. i do think that the temperature went too high with fan running after 105 C.

ur temp shld go back to 100 or 90 plus after awhile when the fan kicks in. but of course, constant fan running means circulation for the bike is too little and ur temp might just stay at 100 plus range with traffic jams

As I have mentioned earlier, stock footrest is more comfortable for daily, leisure and touring riding ... some prefer aftermarket ones due to the aggresive posture that they need for cornering for tracking purposes ... for looks its up to individual which i would prefer valta moto over other brands ...

for tyres, 55 is the stock height if i am not wrong ... actually what i understand for 190, its very stable for straight road high speed while those who prefer better handling for corners would choose size 180

wah....valta moto, the name already sound fierce, any pics of it bro?

Well, valter moto has afew type of rearset for each bike.. abt 4 types or less.. a simple one will cost u abt 500+.. the top ends one which is nicest cost more than 1k+.. i'm scouting for rearsets too.. saw the pricelist for VM can faint...

If you r meticulous about ur bike.. go for rearsets with silver or plain footpeg, anodised colour footpegs (black, gold, red) will fade, coz u step on it. A good choice i reccommend would be rizoma.. black rearsets, plain footpeg.. fully adjustable, built quality is awesome.. cost abt 750-850..

Any R1 is a good R1.

I was reading the recent 2011 MCN shootout for sportsbikes - and the new Kawa ZX-10r was anticipated as going to be the new top performer that would overtake the Bimmer S1000RR, but instead the kawi came out 3rd. The bimmer still took 1st place, with the Blade in 2nd place. The R1 placed 4th and the Gixxer (ahem) placed 5th (haha) - No offence! :)

The comments in the follow up were really quite argumentative, but the Chief Tester Michael Neeves actually posted responses. One thing worth highlighting here was MCN giving the R1 the bike of the year award in 2009, but in this 2011 writeup they recommended the blade over the R1. His justification was that in terms of performance, the R1 creamed the blade in 2009 due to the test track being one with lots of twisties so the R1 had a clear dominance over the blade, but in the latter tests, the tracks with more straights saw the R1 fall behind due to the blade having a better top and also due to weight differences. The blade also had more plusses due to the R1 getting pricier over 2009-2011, perhaps to cover the R&D costs into the crossplane.

It cleared the air for me right there - although honestly the minor differences you get in any bike 2008 onwards are minimal except for cosmetic differences. The real game changer was BMW with their S1000RR having a far superior engine, electronics and overall rideability - but from what I know, the bike retails at about $45k from performance motors, and i don't see the ~$15k excess to pay if you're looking for a litrebike.

It's rumoured and almost quite certain the 2012 R1 will see a major change as yamaha has fallen behind the development of the BMW, ducati 1198SP and other new revamped makes. Considering whether to wait or purchased the current gen 2009-2011 model - a major dilemma. But I guess it all comes down to why you want a bike at all.

:)

Class 3 = 02/07/2002

Class 2B = 24/04/2008

Class 2A = 22/12/2009

Class 2 = 10/02/2011

going by the same principle of a major update every 2 - 3 yrs, i guess there's a possibility that honda might also be coming up with a new cbr in 2012 so that might be 1 more reason to wait till next yr before getting a new sports bike? i'm just waiting in bated anticipation for 2012 to see what they come up with.
