when the bike is stationary, its not the correct way to check the timing chain. U need to ride the bike and at 5 or 6 gear, speed around 80 to 90 km/h, if u still can hear the timing chain clearly, its time to get it change.

Yo blurin, the price is not around there ... its wwwwwaaaaayyyyyyyyy toooo far out. price for changing of timing chain is about 350 only +-

oh. Thanks for the information. Is there any association between the tensioner and the timing chain? Hey guru, its better u list down wat to do during servicing eg 5k 10k 15k n so on. So others can take note wat to do next. This is the time to be unique.

Don wan la some might not treat their bike as wife ma haha

I have received Aeon's servicing booklet from Evershine Auto. First running in servicing is at 800km followed by 2000km and every 2000km thereafter until 20,000km. Is that the standard running in servicing procedure or is Evershine Auto out to make a quick buck? Cos they bill for labour charge, I think, and engine oil. Hmmmm...

Wah I tot 10,000km nia ? Maybe kawasaki expensive have to take good Care :)

yes there is a link between the timing chain and the tensioner ... the tensioner will automatically tightens the timing chain when it becomes loose but all the auto ones sucks big time for yamaha and thats why all yamaha 4-stroke bikes are noisy ( due to the timing chain ) ... i bought a manual tensioner for around 150 if i remember correctly ... auto ones should cost around 250 ... so 250 + 350 + 300 ( labour charges for opening up the engine ) well to me its a bit costly just for the tensioner and timing chain only but well thats a standard charge for bikeshops once they open up the engine ...

i wish im the black r1 with the hot girl behind me :cheeky:

btw wow kawa running in so different from us or maybe i anyhow run in lol

ok theres been a issue im irritated with.. after changing or valves and v/c and throttle body sync and this and that( those regular servicing)

im still stuck with my bikes stupid idling problems... my idle is like Asthma.. sometimes strong sometimes weak like engine gonna die... i ask 2 shops n they tell me same thing that this issue cant be fixed.. but b4 i did all this repair and servicing, its feels that the "asthma attack" is less than wat happen now..

im irritated by this n i somehow feels that it can be solved!.. anyone noes wat im talking n able to help? im talking abt 08 model.

ps: pls dun tell me to ask mr guru for help on this... i need real help here thanks.

yes i agree with u that the answers from the 2 bikeshops are bullshit. my point of view from this is that the sync was not done properly and therefore causing this problem. thats the easiest way to determine first.

yo fufu bro, i encountered "choking" rpm idling during that time my fuel cap leaked and water was mixed with my petrol. supposely thought is throttle body, but end up its my petrol with water that cause the unstable idling. I am not sure if your asthmatic problem is which i have described?

I also have 1 idling problem...Recently, everytime when the bike is cold and when the bike is warming up, normally the idling will be higher till the bike is heated and ready to go, then it will lower the idling to normal which is about 1.2k +-.... But now instead of reducing the rpm after warming up, the rpm increased to 2k!! And worst part is, it maintains at 2k everytime i clutch in or in neutral... However i discover that this prob subsides after riding the bike for about 4-5 min. Its making the bike hot very fast too.....

I am not sure where is the problem coming from (throttle, throttle cable, throttle body butterfly valves???) Would like to check around if anyone experienced this before?

well reason why i say its not worth its cause the labour charges ... and after changing the tensioner and timing chain, few months down the road the same problem will occur again ...
