i havent tried gg to jb with my 4 even.. ahaha. but im still not confident with my bike uh. halfway break down then die. maybe, if there's a chance and i'm ready, i will.

but equipments like mesh jacket i dun have. i down own a riding boot and a full face. my glove is my only treasure. sad...

its good to prepare both of ur bike and urself for the trip..

personally protection such jacket, shoes, fullface and gloves would suffice..

more would be to prepare for ur bike... ensure u do all the neccessary servicing before going.. eo.. sp.. chain maintenance.. signal lights

and our beloved SUPER IMPORTANCE LIQUID, The Mighty COOLANT..

kekeke..

There are confusion here...but what I understand is :

Eo without oil filter change : 2.8

Eo with oil filter change : 3

Eo after gear box dismantle : 3.2

yeah.. thats the similar thing told to me..

VTEC uses 3.2 for normal EO change without oil filter..

so i guess its more for oil filter change and gear box..

Ah Pek! Yours truly requires a lil' guidance. Remember I told you bout the "zing" sound emanating from within my header. Ok I just got a header from bro FZ6, and planning to detach my current header myself. Is there any rubber gasket or metal washer that I should take note of?

Surely there's something in between the connection of the exhaust port and the header itself? If it's a rubber gasket, the heat and age may cause it to crack when I attempt a self-detachment. :cheeky:

Any idea?

Pity I can't get it to shine like yours. :faint:

heh!...how are you mannn!..you last time I saw you you got red tiring eyes but still 'speeding' home yah!? Well, guess your question were answer by fellow riders here olehdi.

The image..are you giving your 'new' exhaust a new quote?..if so..hope you did some steel brushing of flaky rust and prep the surface properly..especially off debris and stubborn embeded oily stains that may have sat deep in the old paint. Do some sanding (so that the hi-temp paint 'bites' better) but need not get the fine rust out. Get a rust converter agent (liquid) and have these fine rust converted in metal oxide. It act as a layer to guard away direct water and oxygen that sipped thru your hi-temp porous paint finishing. Better still if you can get a hi-temp primer (saw a Korean brand once before).

Love to see your finishing work on the exhaust one of these days :thumb:

Hi biting_point, the sound is definitely not caused by the metal gasket. It's within the header itself. Somewhere near where the pipe joins up from 2 to 1. Something is detached inside, making a very distint "ziiiiiing" everytime I throttle. Even the mechs were stunned. Haha.

Oh my.. So there is a gasket. If it's metal, then hopefully it doesn't break or something.

our bike more than 10yrs and the gasket already clamp and formed to the original header shape, when change header advice to change the 4 header gasket 2.

when i change header oso got funny sound after changing 4 new gasket okie liao

Wow! Tiring! Ok managed to detach the old header after much ado. Header number 1 and 4 is easy to unscrew, ran into some problems with number 2 and 3 due to the space constraint caused by the chassis and radiator blocking the way. Detached the radiator and managed to squeeze the tool in.

Btw Ah Pek, I sanded the header down till the metal, but didn't apply any high-temp primer cos I couldn't get hold of one. So I just sprayed about 7 coatings of RJ high-temp black spray! If it rusts, then gotta repeat the process liao.

http://i25.tinypic.com/ei2rep.jpg

There were metal gaskets in between the header and exhaust port, but they looked fine, so I'd rather not disturb them. No more irritating "ziiiiiing" from the header!

http://i32.tinypic.com/2vlt8wo.jpg

The "ziiiiing" sound actually comes from that part of the header. Mechanics and Ah Pek advised me to bring it to a metal workshop, but the cost wouldn't be that cheap though. Suspected the silencer rods inside is detached, thus it zings at moderate exhaust flow, but stabilises at high exhaust flow.

Anyone keen on an old rusty Ver S exhaust to do your garage modifications? Maybe remove the silencer and make it a thru-thru. :thumb:
